Accomodation was within a short walking distance of Universal theme park. Hotel clean, friendly, good service, excellent selection of fish nightly as well as a hot plate with a meat option plus the usual catering run with various options. Childrens options as well. The park is split into two, one theme and one water park. The waterpark is ok for children, but limited for younger ones (under 5). I would advise that hire of a large water ring isn't necessary and ends up being a hindrance as there is a real risk of it being used by anyone with the loss of your deposit. The theme park is fine and I would advise to pay the extra few pounds for a 14 day pass, this gives you the option of attending when you want without fear of expiry. Normally a coupleof hours early evening will then suffice. There is a more carnival atmosphere on some of the faster rides when darkness falls and if you have older children, they will enjoy a later visit much more. Plenty of sideshows for the smaller ones to spend your hard earned cash on! Take a large bag to carry the cuddlies they will inevitably get as consolation. Took in a magic show on the way to Cap Salou. Various prices with all you could drink, beer or wine only. The meal was a small plate of spaghetti, which wasn't woreth the extra. For short journeys, use taxi's not much more than a bus. The train to Barcelona gets very full so be prepared to stand the whole way.
