...We arrived at Gare du Nord, Paris during the afternoon of March 26th 2006 and took the No. 4 metro line towards the Vavin stop. This hotel is part of the Best Western Group and is about a five minute walk from the metro and is situated in a side street. We asked for a non smoking room and got a non smoking room. Our twin room was on the fifth floor, accessed by a small lift. It wasn't very big but as we were only staying for a couple of nights it didn't matter too much. There was a small table next to my bed and there wasn't much room between it and the bathroom door which opened out into the room. We had a television and a mini bar although we didn't use it because the drinks were too expensive. The bathroom was clean and modern, but the shower head took a little time to get used to. We had lovely fluffy white towels...

Advantages: Excellent service, attention to detail, impressive value for money Disadvantages: Not suited for lively people
...LaVilla Marbella is located in the beautiful Old Town of Marbella. The hotel is very charming and the friendliness of the service personal is exceptional.
The rooms are very nice furnished and well equipped. The room rates are quite expensive though. You pay for at least 4* stars without having a pool, wellness area, etc.. If you are
aware of that and can live without those amenities, LaVilla Marbella
is for sure a beautiful place to stay.
We stayed at this property in late April and had a fantastic time. We had read in our travel book on Spain not to expect much from the Marbella area and had it not been for my attraction to this hotel we very well may have passed on the area. I am so glad we did not.
Marbella has a beautiful little old city and a pleasant strech of beach, along with superb restaurants. However, our...

Advantages: Good location Disadvantages: Tiny baths!
...Just back from 4 great nights in Paris at LaVillahotel. The location is fantastic - only a short walk away from loads of exciting restaurants and cafe-bars in the happening Latin Quarter. Try out Le Pres Aux Clercs next door (Hemingway's old haunt apparently, he used to live close by) - the food is fairly expensive but very good and the massive tree in the middle of the dining room is amazing!
The hotel itself is on a quiet street in the heart of St Germain, plus all the rooms have shutters, which help to keep the noise to a minimum at night.
The reception staff at LaVilla are generally very helpful and the rooms are clean and well-decorated/furnished. Each room is equipped with a minibar, complimentary toiletries, robes and hairdryer. My only complaint is that the baths are very small (I could not lie down in ours, and I am only 5...
