I've recently returned from a short break in Paris, staying at the Hotel du Cadran, and the experience has left me wanting more!!
The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower and even less to the Ecole Militaire Metro station, meaning that the whole of Paris is within easy reach.

It's very difficult to have a bad word to say about such a beautiful city, but when you unearth a hotel like this it just tops it off.
The Cadran is a fairly small hotel, nestled in a back street close to the Ecole Militaire, which is buslting with bistros and restaurants, but it is exceptionally well maintained and the service to the rooms was superb. We shopped around for our hotel as we were not familiar with Paris at all, and found that the Cadran was very competitively priced compared to other hotels of the same standard, sometimes up to 10% cheaper. Given the quality of the service, and the location, it's excellent value for money!
The staff were extremely helpful and very willing to offer advice on events and routes to the main attractions meaning that, again, walking is by far the best option.
The hotel offers bed and breakfast, the breakfast room being housed in the basement in the old wine vaults. Despite this the room is light and airy and the serving staff extremely polite and efficient.
The rooms themselves, whilst containing all of the expected services (TV, air con, web port, telephone) are fairly small, but the bed was huge and extremely comfortable!! I am firmly of the opinion that the room was purely somewhere to rest my head so size didn't really matter!!
The street outside houses a couple of very fine and affordable bistros and a small shop for munchies!!
All round, an exceptional hotel, and I will certainly be returning.
Advantages: location, clean, english friendly Disadvantages: small ish rooms
Stayed here in August 2008 and I have to say it was one of the most pleasant experiences of a great trip to a great city. Set in a perfect location, 5 mins for the Eiffel Tower and great connections to all over the city. Wonderful shops and restaurants right on the doorstep. The staff are friendly and do not mind speaking English. We had a problem with our room and they sorted it straight away. It was clean, modern, quiet and comfortable and it has ... ...Parisian hotels they are not massive the rooms but everything you could want is provided and if not just ask... they seemed willing to help us with anything. Breakfast was a bit expensive so we went to one of the nearby cafes. much cheaper and could sit on the street and watch the city do its thing.... ...
