Advantages: Friendly staff, quick email replies, website in English, 24 hours access, located at the seafront Disadvantages: kettle would have been nice especially for people who decide to stay for longer periods.
I have stayed in the HotelduGolf for one night only when travelling to Europe. I would not say Calais is a great holiday destination as we all know it is not, but if you are looking for a place to stay overnight and then get ahead with your journey, I don't think there is a better place than HotelduGolf in this price range. Rooms are spacious and feel fresh, with TV, fridge, stove and a microwave. WiFi internet connection throughout the building. Staff is nice and helpfull.
Hotel itself is located right at the seafront, so as you may expect there are restaurants around. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the town centre, meaning no need to drive which is good especially if you want to enjoy local nightlife.
I must say I've been expecting much less for the money they have charged, thus, overall I'm very happy with my stay and if ...

I couldn't.
Since that Sunday afternoon I have always had something of a soft spot for Hoteldu Nord. It is firmly placed in the traditional of French cinema of the thirties. Like his contemporaries, Renoir ...
Advantages: location, clean, english friendly Disadvantages: small ish rooms
Stayed here in August 2008 and I have to say it was one of the most pleasant experiences of a great trip to a great city. Set in a perfect location, 5 mins for the Eiffel Tower and great connections to all over the city. Wonderful shops and restaurants right on the doorstep. The staff are friendly and do not mind speaking English. We had a problem with our room and they sorted it straight away. It was clean, modern, quiet and comfortable and it has made me want to return soon. As with all Parisian hotels they are not massive the rooms but everything you could want is provided and if not just ask... they seemed willing to help us with anything. Breakfast was a bit expensive so we went to one of the nearby cafes. much cheaper and could sit on the street and watch the city do its thing.... ...
