    Disadvantages Disadvantages Very small, a quick visit

    After the death of Christ it is believed that both the Virgin Mary and John the Apostle journeyed to Ephesus and settled in Turkey. A small house in the Solmissos Mountains is thought to be the final resting place of the Virgin Mary and the Vatican recognises this place as a shrine which is important to both Christians and Muslims. The journey to the shrine was up an extremely steep hill on a very narrow road which made for a slightly scary journey by coach. On arrival at the Shrine we were amazed by the number of coaches, it seems that this tiny building is one of the most visited locations ... more
