Advantages: easy to get to, on main hotel/recreation strip into the city Disadvantages: dated, noisy
...My wife and I stayed here for 1 night in early September 2006.
The place is easy to find, on the busy main hotel/motel/restaurant strip on the outskirts of the city.
The hotel has the appearance and feel of a motel from the moment you drive in, from the reception area to the rooms. there is plenty of parking and we found no problems getting our car right outside our room.
Our room was on the ground floor at the rear of the premises. the room was clean (ish), and had the usual facilities, of TV, iron/board, hairdryer, coffee maker etc, however everything looked a bit old and tired. I was concerned about security, as the doors and locks did not appear too substantial, and being round the back of the premises with the door leading directly on to the car park, I felt a little uneasy. Advantages: Charming and unique hotel with wonderful Gautemalan artifacts and ambiance (a home away from home) run by delightful people. Disadvantages: None
...experience when I stayed there! Last, the Posada Belen is very reasonably priced (a fraction of what I would have paid if I stayed in a major chain hotel).
When booking the Posada Belen, I mentioned in an email that I wanted to take a tour around Guatemala. I am very grateful to Francesca and René since they arranged a truly marvelous tour for me. Additionally, they arranged airport transfers and for a taxi to take me to the 2 best museums in GuatemalaCity.

On arrival, it took us 30 minutes to check in - however, check in went smoothly and got room key quickly. Lift barely took 2 people plus luggage - tight squeeze!
Our room was situated on the 6th floor at the back of the hotel, right beside a fire exit. The fire exit door was not closed at all during our stay - it was our nightly routine to close it as we could hear the noise from the streets.
The room was very compact - 1 double bed squashed up against a wall with a small beside cabinet on the other side, this was the full width of the room. We had a portable oil fired radiator which did work...
