Advantages: Good facilities Disadvantages: mind the scaffolding
...I have just returned from a holiday in China and spent two days in Shanghai. What a city where the old and the new sit side by side. Millions of Dollars have been spent in recent years upgrading the city with new homes and businesses with skyscraper after skyscraper. A fantastic new bridge spans the Yellow river where our spaghetti junction pales into insignificance compared with their huge 'noodle' junction.
The pace of expansion is exhilarating. Do not miss the Bund which was the old financial centre. Have a short rivertrip. Spend some time in the old Chinatown. Avoid the Friendship store....

Advantages: Knowledge Culture Adventure Disadvantages: Fog
...the gargantuan Three Gorges Dam, 25 miles further upstream, is completed in 2009. Advantages: Guide takes your camera to take pictures of you Disadvantages: Market at top
...What can I say about my experience of Dunn's River Falls but FANTASTIC !!! My husband and I enjoyed it so much we did it twice !! You travel to it by coach ( probably best to arrange the trip through your hotel as we did, to ensure you are going with a reputable coach and guide). When there you are split into small groups (depending on the number of people on you transfer coach and you get assigned to a guide. Our guide was called Chicken and a nicer guide you couldn't meet !!! Your guide takes your camera of you for safe keeping (so you don't ruin it when you get wet (and believe me you WILL get wet) He leads you up the waterfall in stages so it is never too tiring. He also takes photos of you with the water running over with your own camera. When you reach the top there is a small market selling traditional Jamaician wears. This can...
