Down Hall Country House Hotel is situated in HatfieldHeath in Hertfordshire. I have stayed here on three occasions, most recently last weekend to celebrate my wedding anniversary. The time before that was three years ago when I spent my final night in the UK here before moving to Bermuda for two years.

I did not see any discount rates available through the intermediaries I sometimes use, like laterooms.com, so I booked directly with the hotel via their website about six weeks in advance. The Life of Heath Ledger
Born Heath Andrew Ledger in 1979 in Perth Australia, it wasn't long before Heath picked up the acting bug. He had many different stints in TV shows including Home & Away but it wasn't until his first Hollywood film '10 Things I Hate About You' which was a film based loosely on Shakespeare's play 'Taming Of The Shrew' that Ledger was known.
After 10 Things, he went on to make a total of 15 films, all of which were loved by people around the globe. He has stared across some of the best names in Hollywood, from Mel Gibson, Kate Hudson, Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Caine .

If you're on holiday for a few days or a few weeks, you may well choose a boutique hotel. After all, you will likely be spending a fair amount of time in it. However, if you are just attending your office Christmas Party in what might as well be Outer Mongolia (Hatfield), you'd think a cheap and cheerful hotel would do. And indeed it would, were they not all booked up the night of said booze up. However, for guests attending events at Hatfield House, Beales Hotel, a modern, 4 star establishment offer, during the week, bed and breakfast at £90 for a double. Having checked the cab fare between Hatfield and Hampton, and discovered it was £90, I duly booked myself and my husband into Beales Hotel.
