Advantages: location, location Disadvantages: they don't like tourists
When my boyfriend and I went to Tarragona at the beginning, of March we booked our flights and accommodation through Ryanair. Both cheap enough. Altogether we paid £250 for 4 nights in a double rooms with the most stunning view from the balcony. It is a 15 minute drive from Reus airport and an hour from Barcelona.
The four star hotel is in the old roman town centre of Tarrgona. It is situated at the top of the promenade overlooking the sea which is why it's called 'Balcony of the Mediterranean'. Across the road from the hotel are the old roman circus and the roman amphitheatre so all the sightseeing is a minutes walk away. The main boulevard of Tarragona starts behind the hotel so shops and restaurants are very close.

Advantages: Great location, comfortable rooms Disadvantages: Not many facilities
The director of the hotel himself describes the Husa Meson Castilla as 'a simple two star hotel, but for those who are watching their budget, it is not only moderately priced, but also well located and offers an old-world ambience'. I would agree whole heartedly with this statement, but don't be put off by the lack of more stars. As you may know, stars are awarded for facilities in a hotel and not the standard of the rooms, etc. Whilst this hotel doesn't have masses of facilities, it does offer better-than-average comfort at very affordable prices.

Advantages: The whole experience. Disadvantages: My stay was completely disadvantage free!
Regular readers of my reviews will no doubt already know I am a huge fan of Blackpool and that I travel there on a regular basis. Now I am the first to admit that when I visit Blackpool it is more about the place itself than the accommodation and therefore I usually just opt for a very inexpensive B&B but I do on occasions like to treat myself to a luxury break in a hotel and have stayed in the Big Blue hotel that overlooks the Pleasure beach (already reviewed) and also in the Imperial Hotel which is what I am going to tell you a bit about here.
I stayed in the Imperial in late 2004 so I do apologise if there have been changes that I fail to mention in this review but I am assured after talking to friends who I recommended the hotel to and are recently back from their stay that it is every bit as good now as I told them it was then ...
