Sleepless nights in Zaragoza

Advantages: Smart looking hotel in convenient location with spacious rooms
Disadvantages: In a rough area, very noisy at night

a flea market is run in Sundays, and the Palacio de la Aljaferia which was once a sumptuous Moorish palace. But, as I was to find out, the Hesperia is located in one of the rougher areas of Zaragoza with a lot of immigrants, most of whom, are unemployed. It is a safe enough to walk around during the day but, at night, it is a different story. I don?t know if it has always been like this but I suspect it is something quite recent because I can?t imagine anyone choosing to build a nice hotel in area with such a problem. ~~~~ Checking ? in ~~~~~ There was no sign of any problem on checking in. In fact, I was really quite impressed. The lobby is more reminiscent of a four star hotel than a three star with a nice bar and cafeteria and a place to use the free internet (including a printer). There are some free newspapers to read but they are ...

Give It A Try!

Advantages: Interesting, well-organised and well-priced
Disadvantages: Not the first place you might think of to visit in spain

Batallador (the Warrior) retook it in 1118. It was an important city during the time of Fernando de Aragon who, together with his wife Isabella, unified Spain and completed the reconquista by driving out the Moors from the kingdom of Granada. It gradually lost importance until its heroic defence against the French invaders during the Spanish War of Independence against Napoleon and his brother Joseph (Pepe Botella or Joe the Drunk) who was made king of Spain. Suffering little damage during the Spanish Civil War of 1936-1938 (it backed the winning side from the beginning) the city was made the capital of the autonomous region of Aragon, encompassing the provinces of Zaragoza, Huesca and Teruel, in 1979 as part of the restoration of democracy after Franco's death. Sightseeing The Cathedral of the Pilar is a famous place of pilgrimage ...

Review of Zaragoza (Spain)

Albarracin

Advantages: Beauty, nature, peace
Disadvantages: there isn't a good bus service

Well, really this opinion isn't about Zaragoza- but I will write one- but about a nice town that is between Zaragoza and Teruel. Zaragoza's land are 3 regions: Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel and I am going to write about this last: Teruel. First, I am going to talk about Albarracín and, after, I am going to talk about Teruel. Both are so nice and ideal for to spend a good weekend or a relaxing holidays. Near Teruel there is Albarracín, one of the most beautiful Spanish towns. As Morella- in Castellón- and Santillana del Mar- in Santander-, Albarracín is a Middle Age town full of narrow streets and houses from XIV, XV, XVI, and XVII Centuries. Walk by Albarracín's streets is a true present for your eyes, because you can find a nice house or an interesting place in every corner. All those streets are full of History and you can feel you ...
