Advantages: the only one of the origional 7 wonders of the world that still exists. mind blowing Disadvantages: dont do the camel ride. Its a rip off
...WOW, must be the first words i write, as this has to be one of the most breathtaking places on the planet. You would have seen the pyramids on tv, but actually going there and seeing it in the flesh, is absolutely mind blowing.
i might have a biased view as i am so interested in egyptian history, but even the peoplewho i went with who dont have that same passion were taken aback. the Gizapyramids is the only one of the originional 7 wonders of the world which still exists!!! crazy thought that i was actually there, AND went inside one of the pyramids.
yes, you can literally climb inside and get into a real life pyramid. it was an experience, and one that cannot be achieved anywhere else.
i definitely recommend seeing these things u close, you will be flabbergasted by looking at the sheer size, and wonder how it was built...

Advantages: The most stunning ancient monument(s) in the world Disadvantages: Lack of visitor facilities - Hawkers
...No matter how much you think you know about the great pyramid at Giza or how impressive you imagine it to be, seeing it up close for the first time is an experience everyone should treat themselves to.

Entry to the site requires a ticket (around £25E) which allows you access to the site; to wander around the pyramids and visit the Sphynx. The ticket price doesn't however allow you to enter any of the pyramids, for this you will need a seperate ticket.

Advantages: location location location Disadvantages: further away from downtown
...this hotel is probably the most unique hotel in the world as it is the one which you wake u and can actually see the great pyramids from, so close that you think you can reach out and touch them!! ok not that close but you know what i mean.
we stayed here and it is literally awesome how close you are to the pyramids, waking up and seeiing them in their glory, was fantastic. so in this respect, it is a fantastic place to stay.
my advice would be that if you plan to come to cairo for a couple or 3 days from your holiday base n egypt, then split cairo up into 2 parts. downtown where you are near the nile and the hubbub of the city. and Giza, where you see the pyramid, sphinx etc. at Giza, stay overnight in this hotel so you get the best location, at an affordable price.
downsides are that when you book, be very specific about...
