Advantages: History, good food and attractions Disadvantages: Maybe not geared up for tourism
...'t need to use the public transport as it's easy to walk around the old city but if you want to there is a metro and buses. I actually walked, and walked and walked until I just about dropped. This is easy to do as you can get your bearings using adequate maps (mostly in Spanish though but decipherable to get to the main attractions.)
I went in late November and the weather was just right: not too hot, not too cold and most pleasant strolling along and finding skinny streets, little shopping blocks hidden away until I got to the main streets. What a joy the exploring was, even though I was on my own.
Valencia's old centre is quite compact so you can walk easily, best to concentrate on the three main squares: Plaza de la Reina, Plaza del Ayuntamiento and Plaza de la Virgen (my favourite!). The area is roughly determined by the rails...

Advantages: Nice beaches, great nightful, lots to see and do, easy to get to Disadvantages: Can be expensive
...the bell as it chimes on the hour, you'll certainly ask friends and family to speak up when talking to you! After the long walk down, relax at one of the many cafes for some tapas in the sun in the Plaza de La Reina, my legs ached for days afterwards!
*** Museums ***
If you like museums you'll love Valencia. There are far to many to name here, but IVAM (Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno) is very interesting. It displays 20th-century art. It includes the Julio González Centre, opened in 1989, and the Sala de la Muralla (Wall Room), in the basement of the front building, with remains of the city's old medieval fort, inaugurated in 1991. The IVAM is attached to the Department of Culture...

VALENCIA AND "FALLAS" : MUST SEEN
I lived in Valencia (Spain) for about 5 years, and I have to say that being Spanish, but from the North, this region has nothing to do with my own region. There are people that think that Spain has almost the same culture everywhere, but this is not completely true, and some regions have a specific culture and events that you will not find anywhere else in Spain. This is the case of Valencia, especially when we talk about their main festivity: the "Fallas" .
WHAT ARE THE FALLAS?
Basically, although there would be lots to say, the Fallas is an old tradition that has changed through time. There is a week when they put in the streets hundreds...
