The hotel enjoys a good location on the shores of Mission Bay and is within walking distance of SeaWorld and Mission Beach. The hotel has a nice large swimming pool with a poolside bar serving cocktails and light bites. There areplenty of water based activities to keep everyone entertained including jet skis, sport fishing and even whale watching when in season. The hotel has lovely tropical gardens filled with waterfalls and ponds. Guest rooms aretraditional in style and all have either a patio or a balcony. A good resort style hotel.
Advantages: Vast, opulent, breathtaking, central to downtown Disadvantages: You might feel overwhelmed. Can be expensive
...serving soup, sandwiches and salads. They also serve teas, coffees and pastries. Nearby Redfield's Lounge is decorated like an exclusive club with polished oak and deep armchairs catering for the cigar connoisseur.
The Grand Lobby Bar
The Grand Lobby bar is situated at one end of the main concourse and is another edifice of marble, deep mahogany timer and decorative wrought iron panels. Over the bar is a huge Regency style painting of ladies and huntsmen in the grounds of a stately home. Beers (draft and bottles), wines, spirits and cocktails are served to your table by earnest young things who may well be imagining that they will be the next starlet on the block.

...Decided to travel around California staying with either Hyatt or Hilton (am a Diamond Hyatt member & Gold Hilton member).
Booking
On booking our stay via the internet (hyatt.com) - we reserved a standard room with a kings size bed. Decided to contact customer services explaining our requirements in advance (due to allergies).
Arrival
Travelled into Linchberg airport (SanDiegos main airport) and taxi ride was $15 with a nice tip.
Greeted by a doorman who opened the taxi door - but strangely didn't offer any assistance with the luggage.
Main foyer is amazing - very large; high ceilings and polished floor. Hotel was very quiet with not many guests walking around.
Desk staff stated that Regency Club floor was closed and I was to stay in the Seaport tower (23rd floor). Was offered a small bottle of wine & some cookies to be sent...

...I rate the hotel 10/10. It has totally fulfilled my needs and expectations. You cannot fault the HyattRegency Hotel in any way.
The rooms are very comfortable, I had a sensational view of the city on the 19th floor. Room service is fantastic. Whatever time of day it is, whatever you require, the Hyatt fullfils your needs.
