Advantages: Outstanding Views, best hotel in London i've stayed at Disadvantages: couldn't fault it
I stayed at this Hotel last year, and have been to London 4 times since. Ive stayed in over 10 hotels in the capital and can honestly say this has been my favourite hotel.
The views over HydePark were gorgeous and gave a lovely view of the london eye, and the flight path. The rooms were a good size and layed out well. It wasn't unclean at all.
The staff were extremely helpful and went out their way to help you. The breakfast was gorgeous and provided a great choice.
The hotel was close to the local tube station, and close to notting hill and shops. It was central to oxford street and all that London has to offer, without been slap bang in the middle.
Only downfall i suppose ( the only one) was that it was upstairs to a petrol station yet it wasnt a problem for me.
I would recommend this hotel 100% and enjoyed my stay. ...
Advantages: Lots of things to do and see, a nice break from the city Disadvantages: The weather will definitely affect how good a time you have!
HydePark
~*~*~*~*~*~
HydePark is located, basically, in the middle of some of the busiest areas of London. Stepping through the gates magically transports you from the busy traffic, shops and rush of the city to lakes, long stretches of grass and trees and lots of wildlife!
Getting There
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
HydePark covers a massive 350 acres and is therefore quite hard to miss! There are entrances to it all the way around. The HydePark website however states that the nearest rube stations are Lancaster Gate and Marble Arch (central line) and HydePark Corner and Knightsbridge (Piccadilly line). They advise against visiting by car due to limited parking spaces - in my opinion you should drive in London as little as possible!
What is there to do?
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
If you have children they will adore the park ...
Advantages: Pretty Lights, right on top of the tune station, the aroma of wine! Disadvantages: Expensive, crowded, too dark, too far.
HydePark - Winter Wonderland 2007
At Christmas 2007, we decided to take the family to HydePark for the Winter Wonderland Experience. It had been very well advertised and the flyer portrayed an image similar to what you might expect in Austria or Germany during the festive season. The website looked impressive too, so how could we not go and enjoy the festive delights of London.
HydePark is One of London's finest landscapes, covering 350 acres of park land. In the summer months, there is something for everyone with over 4,000 trees, a lake, Princess Diana Memorial Fountain, a meadow, horse rides, abundance of street entertainers and the obligatory ice cream van; it is easy to forget you're in the middle of London. Amidst the fumes and smog of London, the park is a place for fresh air, vibrant seasonal colours and sun ...
