...and are forced to use Iberia you can rack up those points really slowly. It is one of the worst at actually giving back anything to its really loyal customers and they have nothing to show for it.
I would suggest that on the odd occasion when you really get stuck and have to use ibera collect the points on B.A as one of their affiliates, it saves having to join this awfull airline.

Advantages: Fly from Heathrow, cheap fares Disadvantages: no food or drink included

The Flight
On board on time. My son was given an Iberia plane jelly lolly, some colouring pencils and a colouring competition. This was nice but all in Spanish and noone explained what to do! Iberia are one of the only scheduled airlines that dont include food / drinks on board their flights. A sandwich plus drink was ?10. Had I known this in advance I would have taken my own. I did however get some water free! The staff were pleasant. All announcements done in spanish followed by English.
Punctuality
All flights departed on time. No complaints there.
Flight Connections
We connected in Madrid. On the outbound flight we had to change terminals. This involved a lengthy walk and then a monorail. Madrid ...

Advantages: very good route network in Spain and South America, sometimes good deals Disadvantages: the rest, no free food, frequent delays, unfriendly staff
and terrible T3 we continued on Iberia's regional daughter, Air Nostrum. The plane was a German chartered BAe 146 and a little worn out but here at least you get something to drink for free.. On the way back, it was Air Nostrum's own Canadair jet which left a better impression. Strangely enough, Air Nostrum's stewardesses seem to be the prettier and friendlier ones.. The miracle happened in Madrid on the Munich flight: It left on time! But to keep things realistic - the staff onboard was extra-unfriendly (both in Spanish and in pigeon-English).
What shall I say - sometimes you can get very good deals on Iberia (I got Almeria - Melilla for 27 ? plus Tax, whoohaa!) which makes it worth considering. But Air France, Lufthansa and also Alitalia are definetely better. Would I recommend them? If they are much cheaper or if you have no choice - on some ...

For our flight, Iberia allowed a maximum of 20kgs of luggage, and 1 piece of hand luggage up to 5kgs (this was not weighed) As I mentioned earlier, we received our luggage from the carousel without waiting, there luggage was in good condition, and there had been no tampering
