The first thing I noticed about this hotel was after walking into the reception area. They had a large lounge area with comfortable chairs and the bar in easy walking distance. First impressions was that this was a very relaxing area.
The staff at this hotel are very friendly. After checking in the bell boy offered to take a member of are party on a golf cart, as they had a walking stick and difficulty walking. The rest of the party was also invited to jump on the golf cart with are baggage.
The hotel is surronded in very nice tropical gardens and it was nice to see all the wildlife. The hotel have a pond area where you can see lizards, parrots and flamingoes.
The beach was very nice but the water was not very easy to get into, as there seemed to be a lot of concrete in the water when first getting in. I don't if this was due to Hurricane Katrina.
The second day of being there I noticed that they where offering free scuba lessions in the swimming pool and I thought I would give it a go. I found it that good and decided to sign up for a discover scuba course. The instructors on this course where very friendly and helpful. There was one point that I never nearly went on the dive due to nerves, but the instructor reasured me. I'm glad he did because the dive was probably one of the best experiences of my life. They even filmed it on DVD. Also to mention that the island of Cozumel is close to the second largest barrier reef in the world and was very easy to reach by boat.
The only downside to the hotel was, that they had a problem keeping the food warm and the eating areas are open. Which caused a problem with the flies. I think they where trying to close the eating areas in. Due to areas being rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina.
I had a good holiday here and I would differently recommend the Hotel Iberostar Cozumel.
Before I forget to mention the hotel is also All Inclusive.
