(+) All round good pick for those wanting Caribbean on a budget. Great beach! (-) Probably not quite up to 5* standards like some other hotels, but we didn't mind!
Advantages: Very close to a white coral sandy beach Disadvantages: Not for people that want to explore. Unless you are prepared to do a bit of travelling.

This hotel is situated on the island of Cayo Guillermo, which is about a 30 min transfer from the airport situated on the island of Cayo Coco. All the islands are joined by cause ways and there is also a cause way from Cayo Coco to the mainland of Cuba. If you do plan any trips to mainland Cuba then be prepared to transfer to your distination by plane.
The rooms are large and spacious and are situated in chalets. That are dotted all over the hotel ground and tropical gardens. The rooms consist of 2 large double beds, satelite television and come with air condition. The rooms also include a sfety box and a fridge that is topped up with water and soft drinks on a daily basis. The maids clean the rooms to a very high standard daily. The bathroom is also a fair size with a very good power shower. The room I stayed in was ground floor and over looked the sea. The gardeners went round each morning and night with smoke machines to keep the insects to a minimum.
If you are looking for a relaxing holiday then this is the hotel for you. The island is very small and the only population on this island is 3 hotels. No Cubian nationals live on this island.
The hotel it self is situated in large tropical gardens and it was a joy to have the gardeners cut coconuts from the trees for you to eat or drink the milk whilst you relax on the beach. You can also go to the bar and they will make a cocktail for you to drink out of the coconut shell.
The beach is made up of white coral sands and the water is shallow for a good distance and is very safe for children. It was a joy to sit in the water and have angel fish swimming around me. The island also claims to have the largest sand dunes in the carribean.
The hotel offers 3 bar areas. Consisting of a bar situated on the beach, but if you are lazy then waiters will take your drink orders and deliver them to your sun lounger. The other bars are a swim up bar in the swimming pool and a large bar situated in the reception area of the hotel. This bar is open 24 hours and offers local drinks.
The hotel have a bank situated outside and also have a couple of shops and an internet cafe.
The island also has an Jungle tour where you get to explore the mangroves by speed boat. You get to drive these yourself. To start off with you make your way gently through the mangroves and then stop for a bit of snorkelling. The guides give you a bananna to feed the fish and then you make your way up the channel. Exploring all the fish. They supply a rope in the middle of the channel. Incase of any difficulty swimming. After the snorkelling you then make you way back in the open sea and this is when the fun begins making your way through open sea with full throttle twisting and turning, sea spray going every where. This was a good experience that I would recommend to anyone.
The hotel also offered excellent food,. with many international dishes and the staff were also very friendly.
If you are looking for a friendly relaxing holiday. Then this place is a must. I reccomend this 100% and would love to go back one day.
