To start off this review i'd like to say a simple WOW! to this resort! I was lucky enough to go here for 2 weeks in July 2007, and what a 2 weeks that was!
The main purpose of this holiday was for my girlfriends 21st birthday, I paid for the holiday as a treat for her and now she wants to go back! I booked the holiday with Eclipse Direct who are a branch of First Choice, and we had a delay at Gatwick on the way out there, but that was soon forgotton about once we arrived at the resort.
The first impression we got when arriving was how well organised the staff were. They actually checked us in on the coach, as we were delayed in Gatwick, so when we got to the resort we could walk straight to our rooms and flake out if we wanted. They also opened a restaurant just for us when we arrived in case we were hungry even though the time was close
to midnight (7pm GMT).
Before we went on our holiday i emailed the hotel asking them if we could have a room overlooking the pool, have a double bed, shower and be on the 2nd or 3rd floor. To my surprise i got a reply the same say sayig they would try their hardest. When we got there, our room had all the things i had requested, i was impressed already!
The Room Air conditioning was great, you needed this on all the time as the weather is so hot out there. Also there was a fan above the bed for added cooling, which was great at night! The room was very clean and there were towels on the bed shaped in a swan (which changed every day!) The mini bar was stocked up to the brim every day, we left a tip for the maid as she did such a great job. The shower was huge, you could fit at least 6 people in it without being squashed! (not sure many people would want 6 people in the shower though!) it also had a power shower which was good. Rooms included satelite TV, towels, hair dryer, balcony, coffee making facilities, 5L jug of water, safety deposit box (chargable) and a phone.
The Pool There were 3 pools at this resort, 1 being for organised games, or general ball games, another was more of an adult pool as it was deep all the way round, and the main pool was huge with a pool bar attached and a chacuzi. There was no shortage of sun beds at all, always able to find a space to sun bathe, of course you would have to get up about 8am to get decent places, but there really isnt many places that were bad spots.
Restaurants There were 5 resaurants altogether, mexican, steak house, buffet, japenese, and the al a carte (trousers needed). All three of these were amazing, you would need to book a table for all of them excluding the buffet, and could only go to them twice a week. The buffet was just a good, huge variety of food, and usually the night had a theme, (indian, thai, domincan etc). Waiter service was great, you would never have a problem finding someone if you needed help, and the resaurants were all clean
Resort The resort was pretty big, consisting of 7 different buildings for guest rooms. Several different areas for entertainment, and even a night club. The resort was basically on the door step to the beach, you could literally walk to the beach in about 30 seconds from your room (depending on which building you were in). The staff were always out and about cleaning the floors, trimming the trees, picking any litter up. There were a few shops on the resort too, not a huge selection of goods, more of essentials than anything, they sold english newspapers too, which were photocopies but that didnt really bother us.
Beach Simply amazing, white sands, clear water, fishes swimming all around you. I strongly advise taking a snorkel, its amazing swimming out and watching all the fishes around you. If you wanted a sun bedclosest to the water you would have to be up about 7am to get them, as they went fast. But there were plenty of beds arounds if your not too bothered. Theres also a bar on the beach, so you dont have to walk very far to get a drink.
Overall I was simply amazed by the level of service this resort offers. We are hoping to go back this year to the same resort, which we have never done before! I recommend going on some excursions if you stay here, they were very interesting and you get to go on a beach where no one else is!
Message me if you would like to know anything else about the resort, i'd be happy to help!
