Anyone who has stayed in a IBIS will know they use the same format throughout, this IBIS is no exception. The car park is around the back and underground, I have been there many times and never found it to be full.

Outside and to the left is the newly opened electric tram system serving the whole of the city.

The reception are is a bit dated, but arguably so are all hotels in France. The reception staff speak numerous languages and seemed happy to converse in English. Check in was fast and efficent.

The hotel is over about 11 floors and all floors are served by one of three lifts so waiting times are kept to a minimum. Each floor is based around a square doughnut, the quiet rooms with no view are on the inside, the view and the sirens are on the outside. Last year they fitted triple glazing and unless your a very light sleeper you can't hear the noise anymore.

The rooms sleep 3 comfortably in a double and a bed sofa, they have a colour TV with some english channels, mainly news programmes. The bathroom is ensuite and well maintained, there is a shower and a half bath, which is particularly useless unless your a child or a vertically challenged person. The shower is detatchable and high pressured. Toileteries are supplied.

The down side is there is no air conditioning, but when your staying in a room costing about £28 what would you expect.

The breakfast is not included in the price , but is only about £6 and its eat all you like with hot, cold and cereal options. I have never had an evening meal there, Bordeaux has far too many other choices!

There is plenty of tourist information in the reception area and if you ask at reception they will give you a map and mark on it any areas you are unsure of. They found us a wonderful Sunday market.

Point of interest, there is a Irish Bar, out of hotel left down past tram station and then left down about 200m on right. They show all the major sporting events, serve fantastic Guinness and beers and the land lord can help you with anything your heart desires. The road to the right of the pub will take you down to the "GAY" quarter.
