Advantages: firm cushion for positioning, can be used for bottle feeding too Disadvantages: cumbersome, not for those with severe back pain
was really looking forward to trying out my brest friend support pillow after reading all the wonderful reviews about it. Sure it was not cheap, but it seems to be universally loved...
Al looked well when the cushion first arrived - removable cover, pocket for the remote (don't we all get cranky if we lose that mid feed!), and a firm surface to help baby latch on well. When I tried it on, I was disappointed that I found it uncomfortable to use. I do have to point out that I suffer from SPD and that my experience will be different to most mums. It is the area that I suffer back pain which makes it uncomfortable, rather than the cushion itself. I would recommend that anyone with SPD consulted their physio before using to make sure it's suitable for them.

Yesterday, I popped into Sainsbury's to get a few things after work and, as usual, got sidetracked. I forgot most of what I went in there for and came away with two delicious fresh cream cakes instead. The cakes in question are fresh cream Paris Brests. As you might expect from the luxurious nature of these cakes, they are part of the Taste the Difference range, Sainsbury's own premium range. You'll find them in the fresh ...
Advantages: Encourages good posture for you and good latching on for baby. Disadvantages: None.
I found breast feeding really uncomfortable with my first son but was very keen to try again with our second son, so i was really pleased to find "My brest friend". I had read about it in magazines and it seemed ideal so i bought one on E-bay for a total of £30.00 and it is my best baby buy so far.
I am sure that because this was my second go at breastfeeding i had more of an idea of what i was doing but i am absolutely certain that without My brest friend i would have had the permanent back, shoulder and neck ache that i had the first time round. I also think it really helped me to relax and therefore get my baby into the proper position to latch on, so after a few days i was thrilled to have hardly any discomfort. Whereas last time i was still in pain and suffering with cracked nipples after 3 months ( horrendous at the time but i ...
