...Hi We have just stayed at the Accor group's Hotel Ibis at Bordesley Green in Birmingham. Its a fairly bog standard Ibis hotel, but the staff were friendly and courteous. Its set in what seemed to the outsider a fairly rough area of town – they have a large mechanical gate to lock all the cars in at night! We noticed that t is remarkably close to the Birmingham City football ground, which might be useful for anyone wanting to stay close to that. The rates are good at the moment – just 35 GBP for any room on Fri-Sun and 39.95 GBP otherwise.... Read review

...I stayed at the Ibis Stopera in Amsterdam in April 2006 with two friends and would definitely recommend it for anyone who it looking for a budget hotel that can be relied on. For anyone who hasn't stayed in an Ibis hotel before I would describe them as a superior travelodge. In other words, no matter which one you go to, you generally know what you're getting. Always clean and a good service. There was also a bar. For three girls on a budget the Ibis Stopera was perfect as they have triple rooms available, this made it a very reasonable rate when split between the three of us - and this included breakfast (which was very nice). We had a lovely ground floor room which looked out onto the canal at the back of the hotel.
