Advantages: Stylish, Clean, Excellent Staff

I'm a big fan of Ibis hotels and stay in them for both business and pleasure. I had, however, read a bad opinion of the London Euston branch, so when I found myself needing to stay in Euston the other night it was with slight trepidation that I booked the Ibis. ...a Hotel and found the Ibis Hotel. It was fairly close to Piccadilly station which was very convenient for us. We went into the building and it all looked very nice. There was a bar and lots of tables and seating areas, and at the back of the entrance was the reception. We booked a room for 2 with no problems. We booked the London Euston Ibis for a one night stay at the end of May. We had previously stayed at many Ibis hotels in several countries on mainland Europe and had always been delighted with our experiences. However, our first stay in a UK Ibis was a different experience altogether. The hotel itself and our room could not be faulted. We stayed at the Ibis in 2006 and found it to be a good budget hotel. However, we have just returned from an overnight stay and it has definitely gone downhill. It was awful. The bed was uncomfortable with barely enough room to get out on the one side. The bed linen didn't look clean. According to their website rooms are all air conditioned - NOT!! Unbearably hot. Window opened 3 inches at most. The breakfast was appalling!!!!! I echo the previous review - limited choice of bread, cereal, sausages and fruit for breakfast. No glasses available for fruit juice. Will definitely NOT return again.
