The Ibis Hotel 3 Cardington Street - NW1 2LW - LONDON - UNITED KINGDOM Tel : (+44)207/3887777 Fax : (+44)207/3880001
I recently had the pleasure of staying in one of the IBIS hotels. This one was a minute walk from Euston station, which is so convenient. Also close enough for the famous Bond Street and Oxford Street for some fantastic shopping. This hotel has 380 climate controlled rooms, 8 accessible rooms a bar, which serves snacks 24 hours a day, a restaurant, which serves fantastic food. On arriving at the Ibis, you are welcomed by a quite large lobby, which is clean and very bright and welcoming. The bar and restaurant are straight in front of you as you walk through the door, and the reception is to your right. There were 3 members of staff on so the queue was soon dealt with. The staff was very polite and friendly. After filling in your details, you were given your card-key and told which floor your room was on. Our room was on the 1st floor, so we took the lift, which again was clean and bright. Our room was a twin bedded room, which also had a flat screen TV mounted on the wall. You could get plenty of channels also a few sky channels. There were tea/coffee facilities in the room, and as I love my tea, when I requested more, plenty were delivered within a few minutes. Also in the room was a wardrobe, a built in seat, bedside tables and plenty of lighting. The room was very clean, and although over looking the main road, I couldn't hear anything outside. Although at night the room got quite stuffy so when you opened the window, it did become noisy quite early on. I couldn't find the climate control button!!!! The bathroom had a white bath with shower over the bath, a sink with a large mirror and a toilet. The bathroom was very well lit and really clean. Plenty of towels were provided. The restaurant was a nice size with plenty of seating, but did get very busy at breakfast. We had a 2 course hot buffet for £12.50, which was very good value. Lots to choose from. A menu if you didn't fancy the hot buffet. The buffet the night we were there was, Gammon, sliced in front of you, chicken curry, beef stroganoff, loads of vegetables, rice, roast potatoes, chips. You had whatever you liked from that list and as much as you wanted. It was really nice. For dessert I had fresh strawberries and cream. Breakfast, served from 4am to noon, was the same, buffet style. From everything you would expect from a full English to cereal, toast, fresh fruit, pastries, jams, tea and coffee, again you had whatever you wanted and as much as you wanted. At £6.95 I thought that was a good deal too. We stayed Friday and Saturday night and it was £76.00 per night, plus £6.95 per day for breakfast. So for 2 people sharing, it is a very good deal for London. During the week the rooms are £95.00 per night. For people staying on business, there are 2 meeting rooms plus wireless internet access. There is undercover parking for those who wish to drive to London. This was a great place to stay, and so convenient for the station. We bought Zone 1 +2 on the underground and were able to visit all the places of interest we wanted to. The price of the ticket for the underground was £5.10 each which was an absolute bargain considering the amount of travelling we did. I would without hesitation recommend this hotel if you are travelling to London.
