Advantages: the people, lovely parks summertime, great links to Denmark, many cultures represented, The Malmo festival! Disadvantages: can't think of any, but being from the city I'm probably very biased :=)
The first 17 years of my life I spent in Malmö, Sweden so as you might just guess it is indeed a part of the world very close to my heart. I thought I'd start off by telling you a bit of the history of the city, what to do and see and share a few of my own favourite gems.
Malmö, Sweden's third-largest city, is a commercial hub and a cosmopolitan metropolis, with a population of 270,000 people who between them speak more than 100 languages and have roots linking them to more than 160 countries.
Malmö, which once belonged to the Danes, is first mentioned in writing in the 1170s. Advantages: Very cheap, good value for money. Disadvantages: Heavier and not as well made as some of the newer balls.
The version of this ball that I have is the Orange Malmo, Size 5, so opinions are based on this ball, I cannot vouch for any of the other sizes/colours. I bought it from Newitts for about £5.50 inc P & P.
The ball seems fairly durable, though the stitching is more exposed than on a lot of the more expensive new footballs, so I would guess that after a while of playing in the wet the stitching would become weak, though have not subjected it to water to prove this. If looked after well I cannot see a reason why this ball couldn't last for quite a few years.
The ball feels fairly heavy compared with some of the new Nike and Adidas balls, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing; it depends on your preferences.
If you are looking for a cheap football to practice with and have a kick around with your mates, then I would say this ball is ...

A low budget weekend getaway (thanks to National Express for the £1 each way offer!) called for a low cost hotel. I remembered someone saying that the Accor family member Etap now had a hotel in Sheffield but, situated by the Don Valley Stadium, it was a little too far out of town to be practical for such a short stay. As I am now the proud owner of an Accor hotels loyalty card I decided to check the Accor website and see if any other reasonably priced hotels presented themselves and this was how we came to choose the Ibis. I know this will sound strange to those readers who like a certain ?standard? of accommodation but I have rarely considered Ibis hotels because I?ve always thought them to be pricey; in any case I tend to look at hostel and bed and breakfast accommodation before I look at hotel options.
We were quoted £49 ...
