Manufacturer's product description

With Ibis you can't go wrong! The hotel offers good facilities at a very affordable price. This particular hotel has been very popular for years, first of all because of its location, walking distance to Wenceslas Square and the mainattractions. It offers plain yet comfortable accommodation with the benefit of air-conditioning in each room. It has a restaurant and a bar both decorated in a traditional Czech fashion. The bonus is the swimming pool of the Novotelhotel located next door: it can be used by all guests at a small extra cost.

Review of Old Town, Prague by  gear

Advantages: It's beautiful, it's cheap and the beer !
Disadvantages: It's not just down the road and the language can be tricky

...If ever you visit one city, visit Prague. The city, whilst modernising, still appears trapped in a time past. The city itself was lucky enough to escape the blitzing of the last World War and wow is it beautiful. From Wenceslas Square to the Old Town Square and the absolutely stunning Charles Bridge. The Old Town Square (Stare Mesto) is idyllic. This is the place to pick up a coach and horse trip around Prague. There are blacksmiths working in the square as well as food stalls. There are some bars situated around the edges of the square if you feel the need to take a break. Don't forget to check out the Astronomical Clock as well which is stunning. When visiting Prague, take plenty of film for your camera as there is a picture worth taking around every corner. Everybody in Prague is friendly and it is a wonderful city which needs... Metro heaven
Review of Getting around in Prague by  PlisskenInPrague

Advantages: Cheap, efficient, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Confusing to newcomers

...another hawker trying to sell you something, but pushing past them can end up with the police getting called. The penalty for getting caught without a ticket is around 800kc (Around fourteen pounds), so if you're trying to skive a 12kc ticket, you've only got yourself to blame for being so ! However, the ticket inspectors sometimes offer to let you pay half the fine on the spot - which usually means it goes straight into their pocket. The metro system has three lines, that cross around the Mustek/Muzeum area in the very centre of Prague (On Wenceslas Square, and a few minute's walk from the Old Town Square). The system is quick and efficient, and once you get used to the lines and the station names, is an absolute doddle to jump on and off. The trains are a mixture of battered, graffitied Soviet relics and brand new shuttles... Read review

Excellent by night or day
Review of Prague (Czech Republic) by  dipstick

Advantages: Cheap comparatively to the west, beautiful, mysterious, old world charm
Disadvantages: Shady salespeople, water not safe to drink

...center, but it's worth every minute, in the park, enjoying the view of the city from above. Also, one should spend time walking around Prague, and especially on the Charles Bridge - Karlsbrucke - at night, because it is extremely romantic. In the day time, various hawkers and buskers sell their wares and/or play there. Very entertaining. There are also ferry rides along the river for those interested in seeing more of Prague. There are also many shows being put on at night by the various performing groups in Prague. My favourite was the Black Light theatre. Their tickets are usually sell out performances, so get it while you can. There are also over 100 museums in Prague to satisfy the cultural tourist, like the Museum of Torture - featuring various torture equipment - and the museum of toys among others. There are also internet cafes... Read review
