We stayed at this hotel having booked months in advance as we were watching a concert in Southampton. At the time of booking over the phone we were told that the room would be 65 pound for the night. So we booked the hotel and thought nothing ... ...that the room price was £79 a night as it was an event night. When checking in they continued to charge us £79 until we mentioned we had booked it for £65. After discussing it with the snappy manager the price was reduced. It was a busy day for them and I dont think they could be bothered arguing about the price. But good enough they went on our word of £65 and did not require any proof that was what we had been quoted.

The hotel was well decorated better than 2 star as it suggests it is.
We proceeded to check into our room. The rooms are well furnished with all the usual facilities you would expect from a basic hotel in England, coffe making facilities, towels, bathroom, double bed, and TV. The bathroom was basic but served a purpose.
The hotel location is average. Its about 5 minute walk to the city centre but does have a McDonalds across the road with other shops on the retail park nearby such as Boots etc. There are also pubs and cinema and bowling on the retail/entertainment park.
The hotel has a restaurant/bar which was busy when we were there but we did not sample any of the food as we left before breakfast the next day and we did not have a drink in the bar. But it appeared quite lively and the noise could not be heard in our room, which was good. Not so sure it would be a great place for kids as alot of hen parties etc on the go but that may just have been coincidental for that weekend.
For one or two nights I would recommend this hotel if you could get it for a reasonable price. This was the first hotel we came across and therefore I dont know how the price compares to other hotels in Southampton. However this hotel did not have any additional facilities such as pool/sauna which can sometimes be included in price of other hotels, so I would advise to shop around before booking this hotel.
If its only a room you want this hotel would more than suffice, just like staying in a Travelodge only slightly more expensive!
