World Trade Centre Rescue

Advantages: A Good Insight into the Survivors Battle
Disadvantages: Very sad if you only focus on the event and not the rescue mission

World Trade Centre, as it says on the DVD cover, is definitely a true story of courage and survival. I saw this in my local Asda and thought it would be interesting to watch. It did not disappoint me. THE FILM The film is based on the tragic events of the September 11th disaster in America where the World Trade Centres were flown into by 2 planes and ultimately collapsed. The start of the film shows a police team heading into the first tower to help with the evacuation of the workers who were trapped at the top. As they are getting supplies the first tower starts to collapse and they try to dive into an elevator shaft for safety. The team is trapped and only one of them is able to move and as he starts to try to free the others the rest of the tower falls down and he then is also trapped. The fall of the world trade centres

Advantages: It leaves out the graphic attacks
Disadvantages: The story is drawn out

Its not surprising that one of the most catastrophic events in American History would eventually make it on to the big screen. What is surprising is that it has happened only 5 years after the attacks. World Trade Centre is just one of the films that attempts to recreate the events of September 11th, 2001. As the New York police get set for another day on the beat, the news comes through that a plane has crashed into one of the twin towers. This follows two of the surviving officers who are trapped between the rubble and reminisce about their family's and their lives off the job. As time starts to run out, and they are trapped hundreds of feet beneath the fallen buildings, its up to the rescue team of New York to get them out alive. This is a story that is recognisable to the millions round the world who were left shocked ...

World Brave Centre

Advantages: Moving, shows the good of humans, well acted
Disadvantages: Obviously upsetting in parts.

I'm not a fan of movies based on real life events, as I find them a little too uncomfortable to watch, I prefer to watch something a bit more escapist and funny! But when my brother bought the World Trade Centre DVD when we were out shopping last week, I decided it would be worth a watch, and so I settled down last week to watch World Trade Centre, based on the events of 9/11 in 2001. The film follows the officers of New York City who work in the Port Authority region. When they hear of the first plane hitting the North Tower of the World Trade Centre, they are dispatched to downtown New York to help with the rescue mission, and are led by Officer John McLoughlin (Nicolas Cage). McLoughlin can't order his brigade into the towers as it is a dangerous mission, instead 3 of the men volunteer to accompany him into the tower. Officers ...
