Advantages: Amazing Night Life!!!!! Disadvantages: Loud!!!
...During the Nazi occupation local resistance sussed out the Nazi spys by having people pronounce the name of the town Scheveningen. So don't embarrass yourself trying to say it!
5 minutes from the Hague, 15 minutes from Delft and about 40 minutes from Amsterdam; if you are looking for night life Scheveningen is the place to be.
The boardwalk is strewn with cafes and clubs, some staying open as late, or as early as 6AM.
I still haven't visited Scheveningen by day yet so I'm unable to comment on the day life, although from what I can gather it would be excellent for a day at the beach.
There is a Bungy Jump Club situated at the end of the pier and a large shopping mall, offering late night shopping on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 11pm.
There is a very large Holland Casio, difficult to miss when you step off the tram...

Advantages: Centre of city, excellent location, bars, restaurants, sightseeing, transport Disadvantages: Some small rooms, could be noisy near busy road
...I have lived in The Hague for about 2 years now. Dutch name 'DenHaag'. Recently I stayed a night in the Ibis hotel, checking it out for some friends who were going to stay there and visit for a week. The hotel is located in the centre of The Hague, near a busy road, lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Perfect for couples, families wanting to be close to the action. Ideal as a base for sightseeing, near old grote church, dutch parliament, ancient buiildings, galleries, tram and bus stops. You may want to request a room on other side of hotel away from road if you are a light sleeper.
The hotel itself is quite modern with a large open plan bar and reception area on the ground floor. Comfortable leather seats and sofas. Lifts and stairs then go up to the restaurant and rooms. The eating area on 1st floor. I had breakfast which...

Advantages: small, good public transport Disadvantages: not that many attractions
...it is ridiculously busy! You can be hard pressed to find a spot for your towel!
Every year in May/June the international sand sculpture festival is held at Scheveningen, and is well worth a look. A word of warning though- go just as soon after the sculptures have been finished as possible. This year I went to see the sculptures about a week after they were finished and they looked amazing. A week later, after several days of rain, some of them had sufferred considerable damage, and were much less impressive.
Getting there.
Den Haag doesn’t have its own airport but both Schiphol and Rotterdam are very near. The former is about a 45 minute train ride away.
Transport
Public transport- Den Haag is very well served by public transport. Both trams and buses run at frequent intervals and stops are locates all over the city. The ticketing system...
