Looking for Atlantis - Ibiza's lost treasure
Advantages: A mysterious magical place, not known by many Disadvantages: very hard to find, could take all day to discover, very hard to climb down to
...whereabouts - this is Atlantis....
Atlantis does not appear on any maps nor is it signposted but it does exist....If you ask an islander of its whereabouts they are always unable to disclose directions.
It is located somewhere around the bay of Cala D'Hort opposite the island of Es Vedra which too has mystical tales surrounding it.....it took us about 3 hours to find it...it was trecherous getting down to it but well worth it.....but I cannot give ... ...Atlantis is the searching for it....................
.Es Vedra is an imposing rock, 400 m high with almost vertical sides and there are many tales attached to this rock such as UFO sightings and argonauts.........At first glance it looks like an extinct volcano. Some locals believe that Es Vedra is the tip of the lost city of Atlantis . The Hippy commune believe that Es Vedra is a landing place for UFO's. Lots of UFO sightings and strange visions ...

Education, Ibiza style.
Advantages: It's an Education Disadvantages: I still dont live there
...all this that I know Ibiza so well. And it is in spite of this that I still have great fondness for the Island that still has areas that even I haven't seen yet, notwithstanding the fact that since leaving the island in November 2003, I've been back on 5 separate occasions. If all the White Isle had to offer was San Antonio and 24 Hour parties, I probably would have left after my first week.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of partying - I can ... ...fuel to the argument that Ibiza is full of Binge-drinking, drug taking drop-outs.
After leaving Space and heading over the road to Bora Bora Beach - a free entry pre-Space/post Space meeting place, my recollection of the afternoon becomes somewhat patchy because the weather was nice and the drinks were cheap. Sorry. Don't worry though as Mrs Curator kept an eye on my shoes for me.
Monday morning arrived in the blink of a bloodshot eye, and after ...

The ultimate clubbing experience!
Advantages: One of the most amazing clubs you'll ever visit! Disadvantages: None...unless you don't like clubbing....
...nightclubs and music scene. Amnesia is at the heart of that and is a must visit!
Amnesia - A bit of history!
Amnesia is the oldest club in Ibiza. It first opened in the 1950's and became popular in the 60's with a hippy following. Since the it has grown and be taken over by the dance music scene. It is now the secon-largest club on the island (the largest is Priviledge).
Clubbing Season
Amnesia opens in June (for 2006 the opening date is the ... ...ok).
Location, location, location.....
Amnesia is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It is roughly in the centre of the island on the road between San Antonio and Ibiza Town near the village of San Rafeal. From either San An or Ibiza town you can get a taxi there relatively inexpensively for around Ģ10. Also, during the summer many of the bars in San Antonio have warm-up nights for Amnesia and offer free buses to take you there. The only way ...

Simply wonderful...
Advantages: Fabulous views, brilliant music Disadvantages: Very crowded around sunset
...When I first started visiting, cafe mambo didn't exist and cafe del Mar was a small cafe with a tiny terrace, with the famous Jose Padilla playing laid-back beats to watch the sun go down to to a small "in-the-know" crowd. Now the "sunset strip" is an entirely different animal. Jose has long gone and It's busy, VERY busy around sunset. cafe del Mar has expanded its terrace so some people end up sitting in the carpark but even so, the beach is absolutely ... ...it's different now. Cafe del Mar is slightly more expensive and attracts an older more international crowd. Outside of sunset, it is also quiet most of the time. I recommend sitting on the terrace with a jug of sangria just after sunset: very chilled. sangria is fab, but not cheap at 24 euros for a litre.
Cafe mambo has a younger more exuberent clientele and also hosts a number of pre-club parties as well as live outside broadcasts for amongst others, ...

The PACHA MAIN ROOM is a terraced tribute to Mediterranean design. It is beautifully decorated to give a warm organic feel. The sound system is huge with a concentration of sound on the 2 dance floors and satellite speakers that have been fitted to maintain the prefect level of sound no matter which part of the maze one may be in. The Main Room contains the world famous VIP area and Pacha dancers. The DJ booth is raised yet subtly ... ...the best kept secrets in Pacha Ibiza. The terrace contains 2 bars and a self sufficient radio studio and DJ box. The terrace has become famous for playing eclectic and innovative down tempo beats and classic soul in a relaxed open air environment. Most top flight DJs have dropped in for cheeky sets on the terrace. All Mediterranean homes are designed to allow for relaxation and tranquillity on the roof, and the Pacha roof Terrace is no exception.
