São Salvador da Baía de Todos os Santos

Advantages: Nicely restored tourist friendly old town
Disadvantages: The ladies hunt in packs

Salvador, in the state of Bahia, north east Brazil (or São Salvador da Baía de Todos os Santos as it was named in the past) was the first colonial capital city of Brazil and, although power shifted to Rio de Janeiro in the late eighteenth century, then to Brasilia in 1960, it retains much of it's past grandeur and colonial architecture. One of the main reasons to come here, however, is the wonderful mix of cultural influences that make the cuisine, music and lifestyle here so different even to other parts of Brazil. The population of over three million, consists mainly of people with African origins descended from slaves, although there have been many other strong influences through Salvador's history. Salvador is also famous for it's carnival and street parties. The final stop on my extensive two-week tour of Brazil was to Salvador ...

Hotel Tropical - Ibiza, San Antonio

Advantages: Great Location, Clean, Nice Rooms, Half Board Hotel
Disadvantages: Expect Noise - 18-30 hotel

The hotel is based right in the centre of san antonio the worlds 'Dance Capital'. It offers a wide range of attractions: from its large promenade and the main local beach (San Antonio beach), to the great variety of international restaurants, pubs and funfairs at the bay area, as well as the public transport and ferries that will whisk you off to the most beautiful beaches in Ibiza. San Antonio is where fun is... there is no excuse not to sunbathe at golden sand beaches and enjoy Ibiza's magical nights out. The hotel offers 142 comfortable rooms which can sleep up to 3 people, half of the rooms have balconies and all have facilities such as tv, toilet, shower, fridge, safe and cleaning equipment if needed. Hotel Tropical operates on a half board basis. You can enjoy their full English breakfast (buffet) and palate pleasing ...

Fly High With Santos

Advantages: Quality Persistence Distinctive
Disadvantages: Some Men Do Not Like It

Santos de Cartier was introduced in 1981 and named in honour of Alberto Santos Dumont a pioneer in aviation. Considered by many to be the true father of  flight, Dumont was a friend of Louis Cartier and it was at his friends request that Louis invented the wristwatch, so that he could keep his hands on the controls while checking the time. Santos comes in a very smart silver coloured box and the bottle is a dark brown glass with silvered mountings.Altogether very smart and chic. The fragrance is a blend of lavender, basil, bergamot, nutmeg, cumin, juniper, sandalwood, cedar wood, patchouli and vetiver all pretty much standard ingredients for a mans fragrance but notable for the number used and the skill with which they are combined. This is a very distinctive fragrance, as you would expect from Cartier, in my opinion much more ...
