The Ikaros Hotel I am familier with in Zante, is in the resort of Laganas on the Main Kalamaki Road. Years ago the front bar area was very restaurant like, with clean table cloths, extensive menu, good food and service. There was occasional evening entertainment but not too intrusive if you wanted a fairly quiet evening. The pool is large and can fit plenty of people around it on the free sunbeds.
Although I have not stayed in the
hotel itself, its main reception is pleasently laid out, but I believe the majority of rooms are studios accomodating up to three people.
The last time we visited this hotel, the restaurant felt more like a fast food joint, bare tables (which needed a good wipe) T.V's permenantly on, and poor food quality. The road running past the hotel is very busy all day and night. The regular Karaoke evenings at the Ikaros are very loud. We could hear them clearly from our hotel further up the road. On the whole, if you are a family looking for a good hotel with good food on offer, and fairly peaceful evenings, I wouldn't recommend this one. More suited now, to the twenties crowd.
