knowsley safari park

Advantages: Lots to see and do
Disadvantages: none but the weather

I recently visited the safari park after many years and I was quite impressed by what they had to offer. **GETTING THERE*** At Junction 6 from the M62 onto the M57, then take Junction 2 and follow the Brown signs with a white elephant on them to the safari park gates. Buses can be used but the road outside the park is quite dangerous and has to be negotiated to get to the park from the bus drop off point. **PRICES** Adults £12.00 Children/OAP £9.00 Pedestrians £7.00 (although why visit on foot I do not know as you are not allowed to walk around the actual animal enclosure) Other rates.. Disabled (with one carer) £9.00 Student £9.00 Larger groups? 10 or more in a single vehicle Adults £10.00 Children/OAP £8.00 (two adults free with 20 paying children) Disabled (with one carer) £8.00 Season tickets are ...

Review of Knowsley Safari Park

The Kruger National Park

Advantages: Small Size, well written
Disadvantages: Softback book may become damaged through use in the park

This is a small sized guide (important as you will wish to take the guide with you when you travel/are in the park - it fitted in my camera bag quite easily) to the Kruger National Park. It provides a brief history of the park and then the bulk of the book goes into some detail on the following: 1. Vegetation 2. Mammals 3. Birds 4. Reptiles 5. Insects 6. Accommodation 7. Regulations & Hints Each section has numerous colour pictures and is extremely clearly written. I used the book to plan where I went within the park (I think successfully!). The book is now a bit dog eared from use. Reading it again brings back many memories of an excellent holiday. I thoroughly recommend the book. ISBN 0869771426 ...

Review of Struik Guide: Kruger National Park - South Africa

Safari at Djuma Vuyatela Game Reserve

Advantages: Getting close to wild animals, relaxing
Disadvantages: It can be quite expensive

A short summary Nikki and I went on a trip to Johannesburg in South Africa in the period December 13th to December 31st 2004. The main goal for our trip was to see Nikki?s family and friends but we also got a chance to take a look at places like Apartheid museum, Constitution Hill, Soweto, the theme park Gold Reef City, Cradle of Humankind, South African National Museum of Military History etc. But we also got to go on a wonderful safari at Djuma Game Reserve located in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve near the Kruger Park and this is what this trip report will be all about :-) Get in touch if you have any questions or comments and I?ll do my best to answer. Prelude Before we went to South Africa this time, I had been to Johannesburg and South Africa 3 times before. But I had never been on a safari before and this is one of the things ...
