The Imperial Palace is located at the heart of the strip in between Harrah's and the Flamingo and opposite Caesars Palace.
Price: We booked our holiday as a package deal so I have been on the Internet searching around to find out what sort of price a night at the imperial palace would cost you, and this is what I have found out the rooms based on two people sharing start at $85 a night in the week but prices go up on Fridays and Saturdays so bare this in mind if you are staying over a weekend.
Rooms: For our stay we had a standard twin room, this consisted of two double beds, Chester draws, small table and two chairs and a hanging rail in the main room and a small but decent bathroom complete with bath and power shower. The room was basic but adequate for our stay.
The Imperial palace offer a choice of room going up in price of course, the choices are as follows: Standard Room, Deluxe Room, Luv Tub Room, Deluxe Luv Tub Room, king Suite, Deluxe King Suit and the Penthouse Suite.
A friend of ours from New York came out to join us for a few days at the hotel and when we escorted her to her room we were all shocked to find that she had been given the luv tub room. This room was twice the size of ours with a lounge and bar area; king-size bed the bathroom really did have a luv tub more like swimming pool than a bath. Our biggest surprise was when we realised that the room had a mirrored ceiling above both the bed and the bathtub! This caused us great amusement
and we fell about laughing for about half an hour.
Pool & Facilities: The pool at this hotel is open from April-October we were very disappointed when we found this out, not that it was sunbathing weather but it would have been nice to try and catch a few rays and dip our tired feet for a bit.
If you fancy a bit of pampering while you are away then the hotel also has it's own spa and beauty salon.
On the eighth floor in the Pagoda Tower the hotel also has it's own Medical Centre, so if you require assistance you don't have far to go.
On the ground floor next to the casino you will find the Internet for your use and also wireless Internet connection for those of you who travel with a laptop.
The Imperial Palace also has a Monorail station so if you want to give your feet a rest you can catch a ride. (More details can be found in my Vegas review)
Wedding Chapel: Whilst roaming around the hotel we stumbled across the wedding chapel, a small intimate venue beautifully decked out in gold and yellow flowers. Prices start from $300 for a wedding at The Imperial palace.
You have a choice of wedding dependent of course on how much you are willing to spend, for the cheapest option The Jade wedding you receive the following: Traditional Ceremony with an officiate Thirty minutes of chapel time. You can also order food menus starting at $42 a head, all in all it would work out a lot cheaper than a wedding in England, one day when I meet the man of my dreams I would happily get married in Vegas.
Casino: From 2003 The Imperial Palace decided to bring Dealertainers to the casino floor, this was to help promote their show 'Legends in Concert'. The Dealertainers are dealers who are ledged impersonators taking the shape of The Blues Brothers, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Ricky Martin, Dolly Parton and many more. Not only can you play with these fun characters as your dealer they also take it in turns throughout the day and night to get up on the mini podium in the casino and perform for you. Staying at the hotel we got to see many different songs and dances and enjoyed all of them immensely.
The Imperial Palace also offers The Champagne Pit a relaxed environment for gamblers to play, the dealers dressed in gangster gear taking you back to the Rat Pack days.
Up stairs you will find a massive area known as the Race Book, this is were you can come and bet on sportinggames and fixtures, every time we walked through it was brimming with activity.
Players Cards: Outside The Karaoke Bar from 5.30pm onwards you will find a Spin the Wheel promotion, The Imperial Palace offer a free spin to win vouchers that you can use within the hotel, I won $10 voucher for the Teahouse and my friend won 2 free cocktails, on top of this you also get to pose for a Free photo in front of a giant fruit machine with Elvis. To claim your prizes you need to head to the Players Booth, simply sign up for your free players card and you receive your free gifts. If you do not want to do this you can still claim your free photo (limited to two per person). Once you have your player's card you simply insert it into the machines each time you play and receive points and comp dollars that you can use back in the casino when you have enough. Not being big gamblers we only got 29 points enough to claim a free tape measure, we passed on this.

Pool
The Imperial Palace is now showing "Legends In Concert" a tribute concert-featuring look and sounds a likes of some of the greatest musical legends of our time including; Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, Celine Dion, Frank Sinatra, Cher, Prince, The Temptations, The Blues Brothers and many more. This show has been voted the Las Vegas No1 tribute show. The show is on nightly 7.30pm and 10pm and tickets start from $39.95 upwards. We didn't see the show on this trip but would defiantly go and see it next time I am in Vegas, I spoke to few people who saw and they were really impressed with the talent they saw.Drinking: Tequila Joe's Karaoke Club is part of The Imperial Palace and Karaoke runs from 8pm - 1am every thing. With hundreds of songs to chose from why not have a go? I did and I even have a DVD to prove, that's right you purchase DVD's of your performance $10 for one song or $15 for two. We had a fantastic fun night in the Karaoke Bar and really enjoyed the sing a long atmosphere and the cheers from a very supportive crowd. If you fancy something quieter then why not head to the Nomiya Lounge, where Greg Bowers plays the piano in a relaxing environment every Fri/sat from 5.30pm - 10pm and Sun from 6pm - 9.30pm.
Food: The Imperial palace is not short on eating places we were not able to sample all of them during our visit.
Embers: one of the top steak houses in Las Vegas serving a selection of ribs, steak, lamb, veal and seafood, open daily from 5pm.
Ming: Serving up Mandarin & Cantonese food, open from 5pm.
Fireside: American Style restaurant serving steaks, ribs, chops and chicken open Tues-Sat from 5pm.
Sea house: Offering an array of seafood including Maine Lobster, open Tues - Fri from 5pm.
The Burger Palace: this is a fast food outlet serving 1/2lb burgers and they are big. We decided to try out the Burger Palace on our last day and we were amazed at the size of the burgers. A cheeseburger, curly fries and soda cost $7.99.
The Teahouse: The Teahouse is a 24-hour café that caters for all your needs serving a variety of meals from breakfasts to burgers around the look. We had a couple of 4am meals in this place.
The Emperors Buffet: The Emperors buffet varies in price depending on the time of day you decide to eat. I experienced the evening buffet normally priced at $14.99. The buffet was adequate but not the best serving a range on American style dishes and desserts.
Auto collection: The Imperial Palace has a large collection of classic cars worth $100 million, open daily 9.30am - 9.30pm. We did not do this on our stay, as cars really don't interest us at all but I'm sure if you were into that sort of thing it would be very interesting.
My Experience:
When we arrived at the hotel the check in was very quick and we got given a map to show us to our room, which was clear and concise. When we reached our room we were very surprised to find that it had not been cleaned, I immediately got on the phone and called down to reception that apologised and said they would send someone to us straight away, we assumed this would be a manage but instead we were greeted with a very grumpy cleaner who proceeded to clean our room while we were left standing in the hallway after a 15 hour journey. We waited and waited half an hour later still standing in the hallway with all of our luggage while the room was finally cleaned and we were able to enter. Of course we were not happy about this so we headed to the front desk were we complained in a very diplomatic English fashion of course, we were given a flurry of apologies and as compensation we were given two free dinner passes and 2 free lunch passes to the Emperors Buffet.
The rest of our stay was a pleasant one and we had no further problems with the room service. I was amazed at how quite it was in the room considering how noisy the casino can get, having said that we were on the 12th floor. The hotel bar staff were extremely helpful and friendly and really enjoyed talking to someone from England we found this was a common excitement for most of the Americans we met, they just love that accent.
Be careful if you make any phone calls from your room, always check the price that the hotel charges for international calls, I ended up well and truly stung by this. My mum wanted me to call her to say that I had arrived ok so I left I two-second message with the room number for her, she then called me back at the room. I did this a couple of times during our stay thinking it wouldn't only cost a couple of dollars for a two second call. When check out came I had a nasty shock when I realised that international calls are charged at $20 a time even if you are only on the phone for a short while, I have to say I wasn't very happy about them charging my card for that amount but what can you do?
I would recommend The Imperial Place purely because it is cheap and its location is brilliant, however I think it would be fun to stay in one of the themed hotels next time.
