This was my first trip to Las Vegas & I was already four hours late, as I was driven from the airport to the hotel at 1am in the morning I thought to myself 'what if the hotel staff are finished for the night', 'what if they have given my room to someone else'. As the taxi drew up & the automatic doors of the hotel opened, I couldn't believe my eyes. In the lobby of the hotel there were hundreds of slot machines & the noise from the people using them was unbearable, how would I get to sleep tonight with that noise? Although a large queue had formed at the numerous check in desks, the staff were ultra efficient & within minutes I was already checked in myself. 'Do you want a map sir', yes please, a map of Las Vegas would be very handy, 'no sir, it's a map of the hotel lobby!!' And you need it!! It can take (depending on how busy the lifts are) up to twenty minutes to travel from the lobby to your room, as soon as the lift doors close, the hotel falls silent. Fantastic! Despite paying an average of £28.50 a night for a basic room (the prices vary for each night) my room was huge, the bed was huge, the TV was huge & the bathroom was huge. The bathroom was like a giant shower, you could move around it shower at the same time.
Breakfast wasn't included in the price of the room but they are so cheap that it really doesn't matter. A sign in the breakfast restaurant states. 'Eat as much as you want, but eat it all', the choice was huge & the service second to none. There are many theme restaurants around the hotel, food & service was fantastic in each one. There are shops on the bottom floor in case you need the odd newspaper, toothbrush, magazine, video tape, ornament, postcard, calendar, fluffy pink battery operated heart on a flashing stick and so on.
The biggest surprise was on one of the car park floors, there is a multi million dollar collection of cars on display. Not just any old cars but some of the most exclusive in the world!! You can purchase them if you want, one 1930s Duesenberg was on sale for a mere $1.75million, remember your credit card!!
There was no night time entertainment within the hotel whilst I was there but with hundreds of slot machines in the lobby & huge prizes on offer & access to the Las Vegas Strip just outside, so you'll never get bored. The hotel is located close to the Mirage, Cesar's Palace & Treasure Island hotels & I would recommend it if you intend to stay there for a few nights. I got a better deal telephoning the hotel from the UK that I could from a website. It is the biggest privately owned hotel in the world with thousands of rooms, so keep a note of your room number!!
