A fabulous Hotel ...
Advantages: It is Excellent in every respect Disadvantages: Very Expensive
...spend a weekend at the Taj Malabar hotel. We had won some vouchers which we could redeem at the Taj group of hotels and that's what made us stay at this very pricey classy hotel. It was well worth the price though...the double room cost us Rs 12,380/-(approximately 160 pounds). There are more expensive deluxe rooms and suites..
Taj Malabar is ideally located overlooking the Cochin harbor and the Waterfront, a view of the Mattancheery river beyond as ... ...really enjoyed my stay at Taj Malabar and highly recommend it to everyone. It is a little far from the city but one can easily get taxis to take you.
I recommend not taking the Taxis provided by the Hotel as they charge a lot .A trip to Cochin was at Rs 800/-(10 pounds). The cheaper alternative is to request the desk staff to call a taxi ..they charge anywhere between Rs 250 - Rs 300/-(3-4 pounds).

About Autumn Trees and our experience there
Off we went looking for this place and found it on the National Highway on which we had just driven by.The place looked decent from the outside and the reception area too looked reasonably neat and well kept!

...fun we had at the Hotel Geetanjali. Finding Hotels in India
Trying to find a hotel in a city that you don't know is always a bit of a challenge and when it's in India, it can be doubly tricky. Many's the evening I've spent staggering round the internet trying to get an objective opinion on Indian hotels but this time we really fell on our feet. All I really wanted was to find a base from which we could explore and get the most out of the city.
Normally I ask people who've been to a city I'm going to visit. I try to find out the 'right' areas to stay in and then go and search the internet for something suitable. ...

...behind it has to be Fort Khejarla!!!!! The best ambience without a doubt was the ambience which was out of the world, with the village all around. The feeling is like being nestled in heaven. The walk outside the hotel in the village is beautiful; service is par excellence, historical and cultural tours are very information and interesting. All this enhances the Khejarla experience. This place is not visited by traditional tours, but you cannot miss ...

...ehtnically Bangladeshi and Live in the UK my whole life.. We went back to visit the family in dhaka (capital of bangladesh) and decided to go for a little trip to our neughbouring country!! Getting a visa was a tedius job, and in retrospect we should have sorted that out in the UK before leaving for holiday.. Kolkata was a wonderful city to visit - remnants of the old british raj are all well and truly alive in this almost forgotten city as well ... ...for you folks) Aside from the race course, victoria memorial, restaurants such as Oh! Culcutta and cafes such as Flury's that must be visited in kolkatta, the main reason bangladeshi's g to india is by and large to go shopping!!
