WHY DID WE BOOK THE INNKEEPERS LODGE CHESTER NORTHEAST? Once, maybe twice a year, business takes me to the Chester area. Being a historic city of Roman origin, as well as a shopping Mecca for the North West of England at Christmas, hotels and bed and breakfasts, whilst plentiful in the area are not renowned for being inexpensive. Disadvantages: Looks like an Office Block!

...am on some sort of crusade here, but the Amber Hotel in Chemnitz really highlighted for me just how poor the standards in many English hotels have become. Not only that, but over priced too. We have on two recent occasions paid somewhat more to stay in Lodges in this country, which frankly have been so far below the standards set here that it is pitiful. The very low key Amber thoroughly deserves its place at number two in the table below - behind another, truly exceptional (German) hotel. ....0 % Comparing that to other hotels in which we have stayed over the last twelve months: Innkeeper's Lodge, Chester Northeast - 83% Chadwick Hotel, St Annes - 63 % Innkeeper's Lodge, Stockport - 83 % Once again the consistency of the Innkeeper's Lodge brand is proven. Innkeeper's Lodge are justifiably promoting their Lodges as a "collection" rather than a chain, this means to you the traveller that not all Innkeeper's Lodge rooms LOOK the same, which I find a real bonus having become tired of the boring corporate sameness of more expensive competitors such as Premier Travel Lodge....
