In 1992 and 1993 as a family we visited Kolsass Weer in Austria. The resort is made up of two small, quiet villages seperated by a bridge. Excellent accommodation, food and Apres Ski. Fantastic Instructors that took part with us at the Apres Ski Parties/Events. Friendly people at all of six hotels at the resort. Very regular Ski Buses to take you to a variety of pistes from the main village road (outside most hotels).
Both occasions ... ...and everything such as excursions to the Austrian Olympic Tobogganing Park were very cheap in relation to the adreneline rush that happened when we did eventually go down the tobogan route with professionals.
The resort was around 2 hours transfer from the Airport which is quite average for a ski resort but the roads were quite average to compare with some ski resort transfer routes that I have been travelling along.

Both occasions we went with Airtours and both trips were well arranged and everything such as excursions to the Austrian Olympic Tobogganing Park were very cheap in relation to the adreneline rush that happened when we did eventually go down the tobogan route with professionals.

Excellent ski facilities in the area for a wide range of skiers, good off-piste routes for beginners and intermediates.
Oh and the local schnapps drink - BEWARE - not so good in the morning at 7 o'clock when you need to get up for breakfast and to catch the Ski Bus.
Advantages: Nice place, beautiful skiing area Disadvantages: Nothing

Advantages: Age, very interesting Disadvantages: Not that much to see!
All the books and guides say that the Goldenes Dachl is a must when visiting Innsbruck. And while I agree to some extent, you have to remember not to get too disappointed by the fact that for an attraction it is very small.
HISTORY:
The house where the roof is situated was built in around 1420 by Archduke Fredrick IV. By the end of the 15th century the house was in the hands of the Emperor Maximilian I. In 1500 he ordered that the balcony, complete with golden roof, be constructed in honour of his second marriage to Bianca Maria Sforza of Milan. It was built by the court architect Niclas Turing From the balcony he could look out over the square below and watch dancing and tournaments. The 'gold' roof is actually 2657 copper tiles which have been guilded.
ACCESS:
The Goldenes Dachel is a fairly easy landmark to find, just ...
Advantages: Immaculate rooms, polite and courteous staff Disadvantages: Bathroom became rather hot and damp
Spent three nights at the Europa Tyrol, and it was a very enjoyable experience. The hotel is located opposite to the main station in Innsbruck and is only a short walk to the shops and the Golden Roof which is at the heart of the city. The hotel is actually connected to the main railway via a tunnel which offers exclusive use for guests.
The rooms were immaculate, and very nicely furnished. My room had a typical Tyrolean feel which resembled a log cabin. The rooms were rather compact, however were sufficient. The bathroom was quite large and had a bath/ shower. My room however did not seem to have any ventilation in the bathroom and it did become rather damp and hot. The bedroom was air conditioned which due to the lovely weather was a godsend.
The staff were all polite and would tend to every need. The bar area was clean ...
Advantages: Wonderful, gorgeous scenery Disadvantages: Nightlife is pretty quiet
I'd never even heard of Innsbruck when I embarked on my European tour in 2002. My good friend I was travelling with was wanting to visit on account of her parents' recommendations, so I agreed and was pleasantly surprised.
Innsbruck is simply one of the most beautiful places in Europe. Surrounded by the Alps on one side and the Tuxer mountain range on the other, it is quite impossible to avoid turning a corner in this small city without confronting yet another breathtaking view of snow-capped peaks.
The city has a very relaxed feel, befitting a locale with only just over 100,000 inhabitants. This is never more in evidence than at the Hauptbahnhof (train station) which looks more like an outer suburb stop than a main disembarkation point.
We booked into our hostel, which was located about 15 minutes from the main attractions by ...
