Advantages: This is one amazing hotel with everything you want in one of the greatest cities of France Disadvantages: pretty much non-affordable for normal folks
In september 2000 I was invited to the presentation of OPEL´s new car called Corsa. I was surprised that they did this presentation not in germany, but in Cannes, France. Furthermore I was really happy to see which hotel OPEL booked for the 3 day stay of their exclusive customers: The world famous Carlton Intercontinental Hotel at Cannes...
Famous, some of you might ask and I say yes, famous it is. Most of you know that european film festival every year at Cannes. That hotel there is that historic building in which all the major actors, directors and plenty of wannabe´s are staying.
The building itself is under a historic building law in france and so to uphold business in there the owners have to spent lots of money quite frequently to rebuild the beautiful historic outside of the hotel.
It has 7 floors and on ground level ...
Advantages: the only place to stay in Cannes Disadvantages: Probably not the most family friendly if your children aren't used to hotels.

For a full experience try to get a room overlooking the front of the hotel, although the side rooms are larger and some do have partial sea views. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel over anyother in the area. ...
Advantages: Helpful staff, lovely bedrooms, mini-bus service into the centre Disadvantages: Not much in the local area, expensive, facilities not the best
(which had a view of the Acropolis) was marble effect floor rather than carpet, and had a sofa, glass coffee table with a couple of glossy Greek tourism magazines, and a writing desk and chair. There was also a kettle with Lipton teabags and Nescafe coffee sticks. There was air-conditioning but even on full blast it was still quite warm. On opening the window the room became a bit noisy. At least the blackout curtains kept the room darkened.
The Bathroom:
Very clean, but showing it's age a bit. There was a white fluffy bathrobe and slippers, which is always a plus point, bathroom scale (not so good!) and lovely Korres toiletries and a hygiene kit containing face pads, cotton buds and a mini sewing kit. It's nice to see that the Inter-Continental is using a natural, Greek brand. This consisted of Aloe and Soapwort shampoo, Achillea ...
