...Yes, it is not cheap. But you get what you pay for.
If you want luxurious rooms, great food, (the seafood "all you can eat" buffet is excellent), and friendly staff, then stay here.
Go to the top floor, where the swimming pool is located, and take photos of the surrounding area from there.
Also the location is good, 3 minutes walk down to Circular Quay, the Opera House, etc., can't be beat.
If you need sundry consumables, water, fags, chocolate, toothpaste, etc., then there is a "Open all hours" store on the way up from the harbour. Very useful.
Breakfast at the hotel is nice but expensive. Alternatively walk down the hill to Circular Quay and have a full English at one of the Al Fresco cafes, before going for a cruise around Port Jackson, or wherever your fancy takes you.
Dinner at the InterContinental is also not cheap...

Advantages: Charming and unique hotel with wonderful Gautemalan artifacts and ambiance (a home away from home) run by delightful people. Disadvantages: None
...experience when I stayed there! Last, the Posada Belen is very reasonably priced (a fraction of what I would have paid if I stayed in a major chain hotel).
When booking the Posada Belen, I mentioned in an email that I wanted to take a tour around Guatemala. Francesca and René responded that they could arrange a week's tour for me (the Guatemala Classic Tour), which was truly wonderful. It was a comprehensive tour of Lake Atitlan, Antigua and Tikal. The tour was very flexible and was arranged according to my schedule and my needs, and it was always with small groups of people. The hotels on the tour were all excellent. I am very grateful to Francesca and René since they arranged a truly marvelous tour for me. Additionally, they arranged airport transfers and for a taxi to take me to the 2 best museums in GuatemalaCity.

Advantages: Generous level of points which never expire Disadvantages: Would still take a long time to earn a stay at the 'posh' hotels
...**Priority Club**
It is said that there is no such thing as a free lunch: With Priority Club, you earn points that will give you free hotel nights and maybe a free breakfast, so that is better than nothing! Is it really free? Well, this is a loyalty card scheme, so yes and no is the answer. If you get points for something you were going to do anyway, then its free - if your behaviour is changed in order to get the points, then that is the price!
**What is Priority Club?**
Priority Club is the loyalty program/travel rewards club for the InterContinentalHotels Group, also known as 6C or Six Continents. In the UK, we know best the Holiday Inn, Express by Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza brands, but this group also includes the InterContinentalHotels, Indigo Hotels, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites Hotel & Resorts. For most...
