Advantages: Complete package to relax. Lovely beach. Clean resort (Makadi) Disadvantages: No shops to walk around close by.
HOTEL
For our first stay in egypt we decided to stay at the Sunrise Royal Makadi resort at Makadi Bay in October 2009. This resort is situated about 40 minutes drive south of the main town of Hurghada and the airport. The Sunrise Royal Makadi comprises of many blocks of low level buildings spead across a large area divided by swimming pools and gardens. The resort is located right on it's own private beach which has it's own free sunbeds and parasols, also a free bar and a few shops, but not to many.
ROOMS
The room we ( 2 adults ) were allocated was in block 35 and consisted of firstly a room which had 2 single beds and a tv, then a row of fitted wardrobes and the bathroom with a large shower but no bath, then the main bedroom which had a queen sized bed, tv, table and chairs, then onto the balcony which looked over one ...
Advantages: Always sunny, great people, beautiful surrounding. Disadvantages: Quite costly, too commercial to some peoples taste.

Flying from the Netherlands, and ofcourse that gives trouble if ...
Advantages: Helpful staff, lovely bedrooms, mini-bus service into the centre Disadvantages: Not much in the local area, expensive, facilities not the best
(which had a view of the Acropolis) was marble effect floor rather than carpet, and had a sofa, glass coffee table with a couple of glossy Greek tourism magazines, and a writing desk and chair. There was also a kettle with Lipton teabags and Nescafe coffee sticks. There was air-conditioning but even on full blast it was still quite warm. On opening the window the room became a bit noisy. At least the blackout curtains kept the room darkened.
The Bathroom:
Very clean, but showing it's age a bit. There was a white fluffy bathrobe and slippers, which is always a plus point, bathroom scale (not so good!) and lovely Korres toiletries and a hygiene kit containing face pads, cotton buds and a mini sewing kit. It's nice to see that the Inter-Continental is using a natural, Greek brand. This consisted of Aloe and Soapwort shampoo, Achillea ...
