It's safe to say my view may be slightly biased in that i did not have to pay as the airline is obliged to put me up, but that does not change the fact that it is a fantastic hotel. Any place that serves free drinks on welcome to people ... ...degree of class.
But onto the review, the first impressions are very good. the lobby is clean and well designed to give i sense of open space and a welcoming atmosphere with the bar situated openly to the left and seating to the right. The staff at reception are extremely helpful and were quickly able to assign me a room and direct me there.

It's safe to say my view may be slightly biased in that i did not have to pay as the airline is obliged to put me up, but that does not change the fact that it is a fantastic hotel. Any place that serves free drinks on welcome to people who are not even paying must have a pretty good degree of class.

The rooms are fantastic. With full DSTV and all channels it comes with plenty to entertain you. Coming with complimentary water and all the others you expect of a 5 star hotel it certainly lives up to expectations. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is fully equipped with everything you will need for your stay. The best bit however is the perfect view across the park in central Nairobi from the french windows.
The hotel caters for every need and the cuisine is just as good. simply go down to the ground floor (for which there is a gentleman on every floor who will call the lift for you as you leave your room) and choose from one of the 5 restaurants there. I would recommend the buffet restaurant, where lunch consists of a huge range of salads ( you can even have your own made up) and a selections of soups, rices, meats and of course a brilliant range of desserts. The evening meal is even better, as beef chicken and pork is barbecued just outside and one can go and slect their meat as it is cooked. Dinner comes with all the other salads and other foods as with lunch. However there is also Indian, bar food and traditional Kenyan dishes available at the other restaurants.
The situation of the hotel is reasonably good, with the park just outside for a lovely walk, and a range of shops within walking distance. Nairobi, however, is a spread out city, and taxis are available for those who would like to visit the national park or giraffe and elephant sanctuaries. To arrange this just ask the concierge or look in the booklets provided in your room for a idea of what you can do during your stay.
The hotel also comes with a fully equipped gym and spa for those who like to relax in style and the hotel has wifi connection throughout for those with laptops. It also has an internet cafe in the lobby. My one criticism come in that they have a metal detector that one must pass through to enter and leave the hotel. this can be quite tedious and can cause some queue ups, but I suppose it is necessary in a city as dangerous and Nairobi.
