Like the traveller on the previous review I was also unsure of what to expect about the Amari Watergate Hotel. We were offered a great deal with a travel agent with 2 nights for the price of 3, which for 3 nights in a 5 star hotel for £150 seemed criminal to refuse!
After making the booking we then checked out the hotel online and it looked great. We were not dissapointed.
The Amari is set in Bangkoks main commercial area with 3 of the largest shopping malls within walking distance (however, if walking in 95% humidity across frogger style traffic isnt your style a taxi to the furthest shopping mall - the Siam Centre is 40bahts (75p)
The hotel provided us with a free taxi from the airport which was clean and airconditioned and it whisked us away to the foyre of the hotel in about 40 minutes, we were received at the hotel ...

We had booked a Superior Deluxe room at the Amari Atrium in Bangkok for 4 days in September to finish off our honeymoon.
The hotel is very grand and very well decorated. Check in took no time at all and we were taken straight up to our room on the 9th Floor. The room was very spacious, the bed was huge and was decorated with rose petals, there was also a lovely honeymoon cake on arrival. The bedroom has a lovely view which backed out to the water and could see for miles.
The bathroom was fab a nice spacious bath with overhead shower and the water was nice and hot with plenty of power.
Each room has a safe which came in very handy for keeping passports and cash.
The food at the restaurant was fantastic with both a buffet or al la carte available both of which was excellent quality. There was also an italian restaurant ...

We drove from Roscoff Ferry terminal through Brittany down to Bidart, just south of Biarritz. We stayed with Eurosites at a camp called Des Pins. The site was good. The toilets and showers were kept very clean. The tent was good and the facilities satisfactory. There is a tennis court, shop on the campsite, games area for the children but nothing in the evening apart from the bar. The beaches are a mere five minutes walk away and the surf is splendid. The nearby (10 minutes) village of Bidart has good shops and nice bars. There's also entertainment in the village square on many nights of the week.
Biarritz is extremely clean and is beautifully lit up at night. There are often very special events centred on surfing festivals. This can be very exciting and quite spectacular. It is about 10 minutes in the car from Bidart to Biarritz. Spain ...
