I?ve had the pleasure of staying here on two occasions recently, both two night stays, both for work purposes so of course I wasn't paying for the room!
First impressions:
The lobby is very wide and atrium style. As you walk across the marble floor there is a weird blue statue of a man and on your right escalators going downstairs. There are also a vast number of chairs and tables. To the left is the spa and a couple of boutique type stores. It does look more like the foyer of a prestigious office tower rather than a hotel though. It's a very large hotel with over five hundred guest bedrooms over nine floors.
Checking In:
On both occasions it was very easy to check in and out again, the receptionists were all efficient, helpful and spoke excellent English. The reception area was also very well staffed with four staff members around ...

I stayed here for one night in August 2009 with my two children aged 7 and 10. The hotel is located about 2 miles from the centre of Limoges. Like many Novotels it is built in an industrial park area which means that it is away from public transport but has the space to provide other facilities. We stayed here on a Sunday night yet it was still pretty full. Our room slept 4 (two double beds) and it was just about big enough to feel comfortable. The bedding and the room were very clean and functional. The bathroom was small but to be honest if you are staying here you are unlikely to spend a great deal of time in the room. The hotel website boasted a swimming pool, a childrens play zone and a bar. Although these facilities did exist they perhaps suggested more than they delivered. Yes, it is not cheap. But you get what you pay for.
If you want luxurious rooms, great food, (the seafood "all you can eat" buffet is excellent), and friendly staff, then stay here.
Go to the top floor, where the swimming pool is located, and take photos of the surrounding area from there.
Also the location is good, 3 minutes walk down to Circular Quay, the Opera House, etc., can't be beat.
If you need sundry consumables, water, fags, chocolate, toothpaste, etc., then there is a "Open all hours" store on the way up from the harbour. Very useful.
Breakfast at the hotel is nice but expensive. Alternatively walk down the hill to Circular Quay and have a full English at one of the Al Fresco cafes, before going for a cruise around Port Jackson, or wherever your fancy takes you.
Dinner at the InterContinental is also not cheap ...
