Taba Heights Sofitel REVIEW

Advantages: food, all includive, alot of activities
Disadvantages: tips, short day, food service

When i visited this hotel i only went for a week. Arriving at the very small but organised taba airport was very nice and quick. Following the events of the Sharm El Shiek bombings you have to have a police export wherever you go. The rooms are spectacular with plenty of luxury even in the standard room i was staying in. All rooms i noticed have a sea view, some better than others. The resturant has nice food although the service doesnt live up to its 5 star rating. Alot of the food runs out after the first hour and rarely gets topped up voluntarily. The waitors are very helpful if they get tipped. The pool is huge and very refreshing in the blistering mid-day sun. There are also jacuzzis and a saltwater pool. The beach is nice although to get the best sunbeds you have to get up at about 6 o'clock as the Russians and West Europeans ...

Review of Sofitel Taba Heights, Taba

All-in Sofitel Taba Heights, great snorkelling and decent food

Advantages: All inclusive, snorkelling and diving, good rooms, private beach, great views over mountains
Disadvantages: Concretey, beach is pebbly and course, spread over a large area

We went to the Sofitel Taba Heights as a family get-together by the sea. It is a very concrete resort spread over an area of coastline, and has its own private beach, which is rather pebbly so I would recommend buying beach/swimming shoes. The sand also gets very hot in summer and is too hot to walk on without damaging your feet. The snorkelling is excellent. We swam off the Sofitel's jetty and were amazed when the first thing we saw was a blue spotted lagoon ray. There were hundreds of fish everywhere! We then heard somewhere that the Hyatt was even better, so we walked for 10 minutes to the Hyatt every morning and afternoon after that, and were awarded with much better coral and even more fish. The hotel is all inclusive, which means that all buffet meals, drinks and ice-creams were included. You could have as much as you want! There ...

Another day in taba heights

Advantages: Temperature, Swimming pool, gorgeous beach, cheap
Disadvantages: Food, constant badgering, flight and airline

We went to the Marriott Beach Resort at the end of August, the last week of the peak holiday season. We flew from Manchester direct to Taba International which is about 30-45mins away from the resort. The flight on the way out was at 1.55pm on a Monday, which is the only day and time you can fly out there. From Manchester there is only one tour operator who provide holidays to this particular part of Egypt called \'Peltours\', and the airline is \'Astreus\', a fairly new airline, and also a very small one. This particular airline have very small planes, seated 3 at each window with a small isle in between. If you are travelling as a couple, please request seats next to each other on the plane, as we made the mistake of not doing, and we were seperated on the way there by the aisle. There is absolutely no room on the plane whatsoever ...
