Well yes its me back writing again after my holidays in Florida, so I thought why not write about this wonderful Drive which is actually situated some 8 miles from Down Town Orlando.
What is International Drive ?
It is the one of the Major Tourist road in the Orlando Area (Orange County), just about every major Hotel chain has one or more hotels on International Drive ( called I-Drive by the locals and regulars), in between these hotels there is to be found loads of souvenir shops, Chemists and Restaurants...mainly concentrated in the central area of I-Drive from Seaworld ( at the bottom end ) to Belz Factory Outlet at the top of the central area some 4 miles between the two...
The Restaurants are really good family eating places with names like Sizzlers, Ponderosa, Denny's and our favourite 'Golden Coral' offer one price help yourself buffet Breakfast and Dinner dining at silly fixed prices like $3.99 for Breakfast and $8.99 for Steak and Shrimp Dinners all eat as much as you like..
The shops sell just about anything you need, and the chemists (Wallgreens) are 24 hours with the facility to transfer your precription from the UK if you have forgotten to bring one...Florida Mall is just along Sandlake road as short drive from I-drive for those who need a much longer shopping fix..
at the bottom of I-Drive is Seaworld, Midway is the Mercado Centre ( a small Mexican Themed Shopping Centre with a British Pub ) and further up from the Mercado Centre towards Belz is Wet and Wild great fun for all the family and Belz factory outlet marks the top of I-drive..
For those of you staying at any hotel on I-Drive a car is not really required there are plenty of Busses and I-Ride Trams to get you around and the Major hotels on I-Drive have either theri own transportation or buses call at the reception area to pick up or drop off passengers to and from the theme parks....
I-Drive comes alive at night with themed Dinners and lots of activety, it is safe to walk around and very pleasant in the evenings...
All in All I-Drive is a resort in its own right and its easy to spend some of your holiday here, rather than at the Theme parks

Advantages: Slap bang in the middle of International Drive, very family friendly, great pool Disadvantages: Ground floor rooms around the pool are slightly smaller and older looking
