If you are going to eat pancakes in Florida, this is the place to go.

I must admit we go out every year, and I personally have tended to stick to what I enjoyed most for breakfast, which is their Breakfast Sampler. This consists of 2 eggs (anyway you want them e.g. scramble, fried etc), 2 bacon strips, 2 pork sausage links, 2 ham strips, hash browns and two buttermilk pancakes.

A good breakfast similar to this will set you up for the rest of the day, until your evening meal. It will save you money by having a good breakfast, and not paying the price of lunch in one of the theme parks.

Most of the IHOP's on Hwy 192 Kissimmee are all open 24 hours now, they should all state their opening times on the big billboards outside.

It isn't just breakfast meals that they serve, they do your usual burger meals, steaks, chicken dishes, pot roasts and salads. They also have specials like as much popcorn shrimp as you can each etc. Most of the dinners come with a choice of soup or salad and a choice of vegetables and potatoes. The food is very reasonably priced. As a family of three (2 adults and 1 child), we usually don't spend anymore that $20.00 for breakfast and about $30.00 for an evening meal.

My husband would live in there if he had half the chance, but I do like my seafood, so he is not getting his way all the time. By the way, the breakfasts are served 24 hours a day, so it doesn't matter if you are a late riser. I have noticed in the last few years that if you do not turn up before 09:00 for breakfast, be prepared to wait, otherwise try after 11:00 once the rush has died down, the evening times don't seem as bad.

They do a wicked hot chocolate and the orange juice is good too. In the 20 years I have been going out there, I have not once had a bad breakfast at an IHOP, they are very clean, staff are polite and friendly and the pancakes are excellent, very light and fluffy. They even do a special chocolate pancake for the kids, with a smiley face on it.

As a brit though, there is one thing I wouldn't ask for and that is marmalade. They will bring out this hot runny orange syrup, which is nothing like putting a bit of Robertson Goldenshred on your toast. I usually take marmalade out with me, as the hot stuff is too sweet and just not Robertson.

One last tip that I can think of at the moment, is that when you are driving down the roads, you will see little booklets in coloured metal boxes, similar to the newspaper dispensers, but smaller. Grab all the diffferent type of booklets, they are all free so take as many as you want. Most of them will contain money off vouchers for the restaurants and different attractions whilst you are there. I have sometimes found vouchers for upto 15% of your meal at IHOP as well as other places. You may find as well that some of the IHOP's may do a loyality receipt. So that if you take you previous days receipt in, they will take a discount off your bill (they will normally advertise this promotion if it is going on).

Well I hope this is of some use to you, and will update if I can think of anything else. I was only there a week ago so I can still smell the maple syrup on the pancakes!!!!!
