Advantages: friendly atmosphere, great for novices Disadvantages: not a long term option
...stumble across a rather large internet café. Intrigued as to the fact that I had never been into one I decided to give it a go.
My first impression was one of awe. There must have been approximately over 150 pc's available to use, all with the latest software and downloads. My first impression was one of awe. There must have been approximately over 150 pc's available to use, all with the latest software and downloads. After a general look around I decided to spend a couple of hours on-line, costing £2.00 per hour, (and an amazing £1 for 5 hrs after midnight!!) therefore very reasonable. I was provided with a card with a serial code on it, which I simply typed into the pc that I chose to sit at, and away we go.
The quality of service I received was superb. Although it was my first visit to any internet café, and therefore have nothing to compare it to, I was impressed by the general atmosphere and environment layout. It was all very laid back, and basically you are left to your own devices with no interruptions. One thing that was very noticeable was the fact that users of this facility tend to share information, regardless of who you are, which for a novice like myself made life that little bit more easy (and I didn't look so daft either!). Help was also at hand from the staff who I found were friendly and approachable.
After my time had expired I then decided to have a look around the rest of the "café" to see what else it offered. Many other facilities were available, such as pc magazines, discs and software to purchase over the counter. General advice was also at hand, even if you weren't actually using a computer. So all in all a very good experience. Since this visit I decided to take a look around my home town of Liverpool to compare facilities. Again, same environment, help at hand from friendly staff, and a good selection of software/magazines should they take your fancy.
The benefits of this type of environment are plain to see. It is a cheap way of accessing you internet needs (for example I use a WAP phone which can cost an arm and a leg!) for those of us who currently cannot afford a computer. You can check/send mail, which for someone like myself is an absolute godsend! It is also a great way of sharing and receiving information, as I have found the majority of users friendly. For those internet novices like myself it is an enlightening experience, and not as many un-educated people may think, full of geeks in anoraks with nothing to do with their spare time. A good experience, and am ust for the beginner.
(Please note that I have deliberately omitted names of the cafes visited as I do not want to appear impartial or bias).
Advantages: Excellent fun and high adrenaline pumping action Disadvantages: expensive if you are not a member of student
...may or may not know, internet cafes are great places to go. 'Quarks' Internet Cafe in Guildford, Surrey, is the best internet cafe ive ever been too. The First floor is quiet, for people to send emails and surf the net, but the more noisier yet more entertaing area is the second floor: known as the 'Game Zone'.The service there is excellt, they are always asking if you need anything and are always cleaning ur ashray out :). Most internet cafes i ... ...to other inet cafes. The Internet connection there is blinding. Up to and over 100k/sec and over the internet playing counter-stike, you can get 5 ping! (5 milli-seconds). They also have a whole range of games on offer...like Return To Castle Wolfenstein and laods more! If you have not been to an internet cafe (make sure u can play games first :/) then you should try it out! who knows, you could be good enough to play for your hometown like I did! ...

it can get busy at lunch times but i have never had to wait for more than a few minutes for a terminal, infact since getting my own pc i have rather missed going in there! ...
Advantages: cheap, coffee+food 'delivery', fast connection, easy to find Disadvantages: downloads are not always saved, the bright lights hurt your head after a while, charge too much for blank cds, food not bought there is banned and they threaten to throw you out if they find you eating it, expensive coffee,
I just read ballbags review and although what he has said is true (ive heard stories, but never been in the mens loos myself, being a girl ;) ) i thought id do an opinion of the place as an internetcafe, rather than gay cruising ground. No disrespect to you mate- it needed to be said - hopefully they'll do something about it and make EE the best cafe in Manchester.
At the beginning of this year when all the rumours about napster shutting down were plentiful i sacrificed my saturdays for sitting infront of a computer screen downloading songs and generally cruising the internet at warp speed. Thats right, warp speed. The connection is excellant at EE - ive had files downloading at about 150kbps!
Also, there is an icon at the bottom of the screen where you can select what coffee you would like the staff to bring you! It is expensive ...
Advantages: Keeps you in touch. Disadvantages: Different keyboards
I go away from home quite a lot since I have been living in France, and one of my most frequent stops is Paris.
One of the things that I miss from home is my Internet connection, but Paris is a Cosmopolitan City and offers a good range of Internetcafes. Le Shop is one of these and upon visiting for the first time, I was amazed first of all by the size of the cafe, and then by the range of services available.
The cafe is easy to find and is located within a stones throw from the Metro station at Luxemburg so is easy to get to.
You see banks of computers in rows, and think that this little cyber world is just a straightforward link to the Internet but it is more than that. They have keyboards that are QUERTY and then the AZERTI, but they go further than that. There are keyboards for all different languages as well and they ...
