Intrepid Sea Air Space Museum

...a truly memorable visit to....the intrepid museum!! Intrepid, of course, is the central exhibit, but there are many others too to see. Although it means more to americans, of course, there is no doubt that standing on and inside intrpid is one of the most emotional things I can remember doing for a long time. The battleship has video sessions covering intrepid in action in vietnam and other places, and documents the lives of the men who worked ...
...the back of your kneck as it dawns on you that where "you" are now standing was once the scene of such historically significant events. The men of course who survived are still alive - and some act as hosts onboard to visitors - so do take the time to talk to them. Look, I am "not" usually the type of person to want to spend time at military sites etc - but this is different, it is a visitor attraction that transcends age and interest - everyone ... One thing to watch for though, is if you do have children there is a charge of £41 for 6-17 year olds, even though on some of the listed attractions without the city pass they would have got entrance for free. So if you are going as part of a family it might be worth checking how the prices stack up. Also group discounts are on offer. If there are 10 or more of you the price per adult is $10. So it is almost worth loitering around outside to see if you can round up 10!!! So if you have made it to the end of the review, then I guess you are interested in visiting... Read review

...experience indeed :-) After we had been on the top for a while we made our way down to ground level to take the New York Skyride since this was apart of the New York CityPass that we bought. The Skyride is simulated flight around New York City and the whole thing was narrated by Kevin Bacon. I don't really think that it was worth the money and if you have been to larger amusement parks I'm sure that you have tried out better simulators. Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum - all hands on deck for a Top Gun feeling One morning we took the subway to Times Square and from there we just walked down towards Hudson River and we soon found the old aircraft carrier USS Intrepid. Disadvantages: Queues, and more queues. Treated like a blithering idiot.
