One fine day
Review of black isle wildlife and country park by doraexplorer1

Advantages: Gentle animals, reasonable prices
Disadvantages: Not very good park for younger children

I went to the Black Isle Wildlife and Country Park yesterday with my 3 year old daughter and husband. We all enjoyed the animals immensly (llamas, wallabies, goats, zebras, deer, marmosets, meerkats, snakes, lemurs, parrots, swans, geese, ducks, emu's, raccoons, owls, rabbits, wild cats) unfortunately on the day we were informed that the pig had died but was going to be replaced soon. One of the best things was feeding the animals (feed was available ...
...could feed all animals except zebra's, ponies and monkeys. The animals were so gentle my 3 year old felt confident enough to hand feed them. She also got to hold rabbits in "Bunny World" with an experienced supervisor at hand. We enjoyed the hatching area where you saw quails eggs moving in the shell and chicks that had just hatched (ahh cute). We chose to eat lunch in the cafe which had an average selection of sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes, ... Read review

A small hamlet on the west coast of scotland
Review of Back of Keppoch, Arisaig by mumsymary

Advantages: Fantastic beaches wonderful scenery
Disadvantages: I am not there now

The Back of Keppoch is a few houses a mile north of Arisaig on the west coast of Scotland on the road to the isles. This settlement is on the coast. This year we stayed in Arisaig in a flat. We revisited The back of Keppoch where we have stayed several times in previous years. Take the b8008 out of Arisaig or if you are traveling on the newer A830 just after Arisaig there is a left hand turn onto the b8008. Take this road and on the left hand side ...
...to the settlement of the back of Keppoch. This small road getting narrower leads to the end of the track at Gortenachullish When we stayed at the back of Keppoch years ago we stayed in a caravan. (It's no longer there storm damage one year and the people who owned it were fairly old so I imagine they did not replace it) However there are 2 or three places with static vans and some camping facilities too. What's the story In..verness
Review of Inverness, Scotland (INV) by jules.34

Advantages: Shops and scenery
Disadvantages: Need a car to get to most scenic places

...of parks in and around Inverness, but the best is probably Whin Park which has kiddie's climbing frames, chutes, swings (quite a lot for children to go on), a boating pond, a shop that sells ice cream and sweets, and a train that goes right around the park. It is quite a big park so plenty to keep the kids amused and a good place for picnics. Supermarkets are varied - Morrisons, Tescos (three of them), and the Cop-op. There is also Lidls and Farmfoods ...
...too around Inverness too - most have swimming pools. Lots of different events take place in and around Inverness each weekend and over the summer holidays - the Highland Games (held at the Bught Park in Inverness) each July, the Glenurquhart Highland Games (held at nearby Glenurquhart, 20 minutes or so drive away) each August, and the Snowman Ralley (if you are interested in Ralley driving - held each year in February, I think, around Inverness. ... A classic rail journey.
Review of The Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh railway, Inverness by Mikter

Advantages: A good variety of great scenery. An interesting journey for rail enthusiasts or scenery lovers.
Disadvantages: Not so good in poor weather. Not many round trips possible in 1 day.

...who are fighting to preserve the line, which for some time has been under threat of closure. For most people the trip will start from Inverness station and if your time is limited you will have to plan carefully to ensure that there is a return journey available within a reasonable timescale. Within a couple of minutes of leaving Inverness the train crosses over the river Ness which flows throught the centre of the city. The line follows the south ...
...water to the Black Isle, where the rare Red Kite birds can be found. Soon the train stops at the market town of Dingwall. This is where the Kyle line -as it's known - branches off Westwards and slowly climbs up a valley, giving views down to the spa town of Strathpeffer. As the journey continues westwards the scenery opens out, giving views over open moorland with the Liathach & Torridon mountains in the distance. Those mountains are the home or ... Read review

The Last Bastion of Scotland
Review of Fort George/Queen's Own Highlanders Regimental Museum, Inverness by bonsi6337

Advantages: Great historical interest. wonderful views
Disadvantages: Blooming cold, cannot get into certain areas

...parts of the country. Fort George is situated just about 18 kilometres outside Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands of Scotland. Inverness is my home town and in my opinion, one of the best places in Scotland to visit. Just as a point of interest for you all, Fort George is a working military garrison as well as a monument and museum. Situated near the picturesque village of Ardersier, this Fort was built in the 18th Century, following the Jacobite ...
