This kitchen aint cosy, dont believe the hype
Advantages: great location Disadvantages: terrible food, bad customer care, no morals
I was recommended the kitchen when I arrived in Inverness for a holiday with my boyfriend. I had seen this lovely glass resturant when I first got there and thought, yes!
We could only get a table for 6.30 which is a bit early for me, but I thought it was worth eating a little earlier just to experience this resturant. We were welcomed and seated straight away, and I was a wee bit dissapointed we didnt make it upstairs to take advantage of the view ... ...big puddle of water on the table. The roof was leaking it seemed, and it started to splash down onto my dress. I told the waitress who was was foreign and actually didnt understanfd my accent (glaswegian) that the table was leaking. She looked at me as if something was growing out of my head and walked away! I then told another waitress and pretty much got the same response, not very friendly staff. Eventually the manager came over and asked what ...

Let Them Eat Cake
Advantages: the cakes Disadvantages: waitress a bit cold
When I was in Inverness recently I wanted to find somewhere to have a lunch for a reasonable price in nice relaxed surroundings without going to a chain restaurant but it is not always easy to find somewhere to eat in a city you are not familiar with. Luckily my friend had eaten in Girvans once before and said it was good so we headed there under her direction, it is a restaurant and patisserie in Stephens Brae just a few minutes walk from the railway ... ...We were greeted by a French waitress after a while of waiting round by the door and shown to a table, Girvans is nicely decorated with funky coloured walls and wooden tables and chairs making it feel modern, homely and welcoming. I noticed there were high chairs available so kids are obviously welcome but we were the only people with kids with us that day, I would say the atmosphere is more grown up than child orientated but providing your kids are ...

Pizza Hut, Inverness
Advantages: Very good value Disadvantages: Poor service
There are a few pizza places in Inverness but this is the only one that I take my 5-year old son into as the selection for kids is far better than the others. When you enter Pizza Hut you normally have to wait for a moment to be shown to a seat and then you are left for a few minutes to decide what you want.
The selection on the menu is fab - a wide range of starters and pizzas and, if you don't want pizzas, there are pasta dishes. Pizza come in ... ...What I love about Pizza Hut is that for one price, you can keep getting certain drinks refilled (coke, orangeade, etc). Also, for a certain price, you can make unlimited visits to the salad bar and ice cream factory (you get a bowl for icecream factory and can go and fill it up with as much ice cream and toppings as you want). What I don't like about Pizza Hut is the poor service - we try to go early before it gets too busy and even then it can be ...

Balti Towers!!
Advantages: Excellent Food, Exemplary Service, Good Value. Disadvantages: Steep Stairs to Access.
Background
The Rajah is the longest established Indian restaurant in Inverness - it first opened its doors to the Highland people way back in 1982. Where Is It?
Deep underground, only accessible from a secret passage….well not quite, but it is just off a small lane at the back of the Post Office, down a flight of stairs below street level. It is slap-bang in the city centre though and handy for the taxi rank, not far from the bus and ... ...compact side.
Because the Rajah is down a steep stair, it is not readily accessible for pushchairs and I was unable to verify whether they had a lift for wheelchair access. If this is of concern to you, I would suggest phoning ahead to check the situation.
We usually eat here at the weekends and we always book a table. I would recommend making a reservation regardless of the day of the week to avoid disappointment as it is always very busy of an ...

Can't Stand Cold Pasta Keep Out Of This Kitchen
Advantages: Beautiful views of River Ness Disadvantages: Long wait, cold but overcooked food.
***Background***
The reason for visiting this restaurant for lunch was down to my good friend, who we spent some time with recently, whilst in Inverness for the weekend. She assured me that when she had dined there previously, that the food was delicious and the service was excellent along with the fact that the prices were reasonable too.
The Kitchen is situated just near the main shopping area of Inverness and sits on the banks of the River Ness, ... ...enjoy eating outside. Due to the fact that it was blowing a gale when we visited, we decided that it would be best to eat inside but we were given a wonderful window seating on the middle floor.
***Arriving***
When we arrived we waited at the designated area to be seated and it was only a couple of minutes before we were being directed to our table that my friend had already pre-booked for us. The reason for the pre-booking is that this restaurant ...
